  1. There have already been a few inquiries about local pick up and if it's possible. Yes! It is indeed possible. Simply use the coupon code "PICKUP" at checkout which zeroes out the shipping, and I will then hold the order for you. We are generally available during normal business hours, M-F 8:30am-5pm by appointment. Also, I regularly attend 3-gun matches at EFGA & Ontelaunee and I can also meet at Shongum. If you want to make a large order, PM me and we can talk about delivery options. We are located at: 1150 South 2nd St. Plainfield, NJ 07063 To place your order, simply go to www.pewpewplates.com
  2. Thank you for all the warm wishes! Here goes nothin'!
  3. Anything 2-3/4 dram and up will function 100%. Anything under that gets iffy, although many people report going under that without issues. Mine seems to be a little abnormal in that regard but that's ok, I just shoot whats on sale anyways and that's never powder puff loads. So basically 1oz 1200fps or 1-1/8 at 1145ish is the "floor" per se, but that's for mine which likes them a little hotter like I said. It shoots soft anyways compared to say an M2, though!
  4. Love my 1301 (I have the comp model). Some points to ponder! Spare parts: Keep a bolt cam pin handy and spare hammer struts. Left and right struts are unique, keep one of each. They will fail somewhere north of 5k rounds. Bolt cam pin starts looking fugly after a few thousand rounds Lifter spring, you can clip 3 coils off and make loading much easier/faster. I have nearly 6 coils off and it sticks sometimes but 3 is very safe. Weld the lifter and never get a finger pinched or a round popping on the lifter while loading Don't be afraid to chop it open
  5. High brass means nothing, you can buy high brass rounds that are less hot than wally-world bulk federal target loads https://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/72279
  6. Hey, yaknow, shit happens! I even had the honor of being crushed by Jerry two weeks ago
  7. It's highly personal, do you currently have anything that will work? I started running what I had, which was a 14.5" middy build with an aimpoint. I shot matches up to 300 yards with it and didn't feel held back by it much at all. After a year was under my belt, I knew what I wanted and built something that suited my desires. I would just shoot what you have an keep your eyes and ears open at matches and then you can really feel what you want. Also what division do you want to shoot?
  8. Rule of thumb but not always true, is towns usually have "no discharge" ordinance and townships do not. Always check though, of course. I'm in Port Murray(unincorporated town), Mansfield township, warren county. I was told by the police to be safe and check with my neighbors as a courtesy. Initially they started regurgitating the hunting regs (400 feet away from house, road, whatever) but when I pushed and said im NOT hunting i'm just shooting, they agreed there are no regulations at all. I verbally checked with my town, but the townships ordinances were at the time "unavailable" due to them being transitioned from paper to electronic. I was directed to talk to the police dept which I always advise NOT to ask such things, but I did so anyways. Long story short, Mansfield township law enforcement is on "our" side.
  9. I'm the guy who made the steel work at H&M happen. You architects are terrible to work with lol. I am the VP of my family steel fab/erection business. If you've been in the metlife stadium, all the misc metals are my fault.
  10. I use these guys https://www.easterninsurance.com/insurance-quotes/personal-insurance/historic-firearms It's ~$125/year Off the top of my head, the coverage roughly includes but is not limited to: $40k in coverage Firearms are unscheduled (they don't need lists prior to claim) max payout per firearm I think is $5k under my particular coverage option Firearms are insured where they are kept (safe) but also from vehicles if locked Fire/water/theft is what they are covered for It is all guns not just "historic" don't let the website mislead you It's peace of mind for sure. But I don't know from your ambiguous thread if you mean firearm insurance, self defense insurance, or otherwise.
  11. Brake will need permanent attachment, other than that it's good to go
  12. Haha, it's nearly as straight forward as it sounds. I took a fine lady shooting for her first real time in June and 3 weeks later we were engaged. We compete in 3 gun and reenact together now!
  13. It's awesome. Next Sunday I'm marrying the last new shooter I took out lol
  14. Are both brushes well used? You shouldn't be able to tell the difference even with a slightly shot out barrel by feel with a brush. If it aint broke don't fix it. How many is countless thousands? 5-10k or 50-100k? If the latter, it's possible. If the former, i doubt it especially with polygonal rifled bore.
  15. I run a 1301 comp for 3-gun, shot all of last season with it and I love it.
  16. Why is the flash hider illegal on an AR15? Sure with how one usually sets up a NJ AR it's illegal, but there are scenarios where it wouldn't be. You could have a california style non PG stock and then have your flash hider as your one feature. It's stupid and not worth it but it doesn't mean it's illegal
  17. As long as it's not hunting and as long as there is no town law, you're good to go. I shoot .22 up to 30-06 out my back door on my 100 yard range without issue. I have close neighbors, just not in the direction I'm firing (obviously) so I don't do much more than zeros or testing at home. The police told me as long as I'm safe to have fun.
  18. Ontaluanee is doing their final 3-gun on the 30th!
  19. There's no need for .45 in 3 gun unless you are shooting heavy metal division. Otherwise, capacity and lower recoil are king.
  20. I have a 1301 comp I run in 3-gun and it's awesome.
