  1. I have had the X800 for about three months now, and here are the plus and minus as I see it Plus is it is a very bright lite and in the zoom mode it is almost laser like. Also I have not had to recharge the battery since I got it and I use it every night and morning to walk the dog, about a 1/2 hr every day. Minus is it is not waterproof, listed as water resistant. Also it has 5 settings, high, med, low, a very fast pulse and an SOS pattern, in that order, so to go from med to high you have to go through all the other modes. Hope that helps.
  2. same here, nothing to click on.
  3. Not so much rare as trying to find one at a reasonable price. Looking for a 1960's python with a six inch barrel in decent shooting condition. Anyone selling?
  4. Looking to buy a used, semi hard to find pistol and have been watching a couple of sites for a fair price. My question is do I get a permit now and hope to find a deal before it expires, or can I buy a pistol, have it shipped to a FFL and pick it up when the permit comes in. I have had permits before so there should be no problem getting another.
  5. There web site leaves a lot to be desired, it use to say that you had to be LEO or active military for the patriot level. As said before, they have some kinks to work out, give them time.
  6. Don't bother, per their web site they are closed Monday and Tuesday.
  7. What am I missing here? If it is legal for you or me to go to RTSP or any other range and carry and shoot a firearm in their building, why can't the employees do the same? the only difference is you can carry only on the firing line, they can carry anywhere. I think this is their rule having nothing to do with the state. If they are breaking the law carrying in the building, than so are you. That's just logic, but that never stood in the way of a New Jersey law.
  8. I could be wrong, but I think you are looking at this backwards. Everyone is "allowed" to carry at a range, why else would you go there? I think it is the ranges themselves that restrict you from carrying anywhere but the range itself. But like I said, I could be wrong, just ask my wife.
  9. I may have to go up to the Wayne area tomorrow, where is he located in Wayne?
  10. I don't think so. New years day Texas gets open carry, and New Jersey, after being in a committee for months, MAY change the law to let us stop to take a piss on the way to the range as long as our gun is unloaded and locked in the trunk. I think we are a little closer to New York than Texas.
  11. I am relatively new to firearm ownership and I am not a lawyer. I keep seeing on this forum that "the law says they have 30 days to respond". Or what? Do they throw someone in the briar patch? Does someone get fined/ jail time? I never heard of a law where there is no consequence if it is broken. Sadly, I realize that it is their bat and ball and they can do whatever they want, but there must be a penalty written down somewhere.
  12. Imagine if the fines and mandatory prison time that apply to gun laws were applied to other "crimes" out of state people commit in New Jersey. Jailed because someone from Iowa didn't have their lights on when it started to rain? What about someone from Florida getting a felony conviction for "failure to keep to the right" on a highway where there is no such law in Florida? Where is the common sense of these officers arresting PA citizens, knowing that it is going to turn the lives of those arrested up side down? Maybe I'm wrong, maybe there is a huge problem of law abiding PA citizens with CCW permits crossing over to NJ with the sole purpose of committing armed robbery. If that is the case, I stand corrected.
  13. I have used P21S wheel cleaner and it works wonders with very little effort on brake dust. Don't know how it will work on oxidation. Don't know where it is sold locally, I got it from amazon. [
  14. I too had rider for a lot of years before pricing around a couple of years ago. Both Progressive and Geico beat Riders price by a lot.
  15. I am also interested in a new red dot and try to do as much research as I can before buying. One driving factor is where it is made. I make every effort to buy American if possible. If you post up one you have please post where it was made.
  16. Had my garage floor replace last summer and in the fall I sealed it with a couple of coats of Sikagard floor sealer. The floor is dry, but when I go in with wet boots the floor is slicker than snot on a glass doorknob. Any suggestions of a product to correct this? Thanks.
  17. not cheap but look up mohonk mountain house, hiking ice skating and great food.
  18. I do that drive two or three times a year and usually stay in Cornelius, exit 28. There are a few motels on that exit and some are pet friendly. Stop at the N.C. visitor center and they will give you a list of pet friendly motels along rte 77. A good idea is to have the visitor center call in your reservation as some motels only have one or two rooms for pets and they may already be booked. The econo lodge is P.F and I think the holiday inn express is also. Just past the holiday inn, in the next driveway is the country kitchen, the food is so-so but it won't kill you.
  19. Any possibility of making arrangements for groups such as boy scouts, corporate or social groups to have the whole range? Maybe an hour before or after normal hours?
  20. Along the same line, I bought a box of 100 rounds of CCI 22LR from garden state armory about two weeks ago and paid 14.99 the price marked on the sticker. When I got home I saw there was another sticker under the 14.99 and that was for 11.99. You would think that if they were going to raise the price they would have at least peeled off the original price tag.
  21. There is a guy who works out of his garage in Basking Ridge who does excellent work at a reasonable price, and a guy with a shop up off RTE 23, I think it's West Milford who also does good work at a good price.PM me for names and numbers.
  22. No complaint from me about amazon. I ordered two pair of ear protection on Saturday morning and they were shipped from KY and were delivered on Sunday afternoon. Good job by them and the post office, and it's rare that I complement the P.O. And the box was the right size.
  23. Before pouring the concrete into the sonotube, suspend two feet of case hardened chain onto it. Either leave one link above the concrete to act like an eyebolt, or leave a couple feet on chain exposed to loop around the generator or anything else you don't want to walk.
