Taking Action in Essex County
jm1827 replied to mx597turbo's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
Thanks, mchosi1, for reaching out to our friends at the NRA. No to take anything away from your situation, but there are others outside of Essex county that are waiting 4 to 6 months or more even without flood damage issues. Does anyone know if the NRA or ANJRPC have that on their radar? -
WTF- good for you!

NJ FID/PP Compliancy Project

Glad your PD was apologetic, the NJSP have been telling us to basically "suck it up" things are busy and that is that. -
For one start prosecuting those that falsify documents in the application process. There has been a steady decline in prosecutions with this administration. Mr. Biden actually responded to this by stating "we don't have the time to enforce the existing laws so that is why we need new laws."

Taking Action in Essex County

Very well stated. -
HI Everyone, I was reading Yahoo news and came across an article titled- "National gun fever shows no sign of breaking", which was a clearly biased anti-gun article. So, as I have done in the past when the author's email is provided, I sent a letter to the author. The author is Cynthia Tucker and her email address is- [email protected] Here is what I wrote- Dear Ms. Tucker. I read your article "National Gun Fever Shows no Sign of Breaking" and was very disappointed in your very biased and uninformed opinion. I would expect more from a professor. Before you write another article on gun violence please take a look at some of data and the facts. Although I am also in strong support of laws that will reduce gun violence, the laws being proposed would do nothing other than make it more restrictive on legal gun owners. Do you even know what an assault weapon is? An assault weapon is nothing more than a semi-automatic weapon that has several cosmetic features that make it look more like a military style assault rifle. Do you know that actual military assault rifles have been banned for quite some time and are actually nowhere to be found outside of law enforcement and the military? Do you know that guns obtained illegally are used in a majority of all shootings? Do you also know that this administration has the weakest record of prosecuting illegal gun owners and those that attempt to purchase guns illegally than any administration since the Carter administration? Are you aware that severe cuts in mental health spending have made it difficult to impossible for those who need it to receive treatment? Please take a look at the facts and data before you write another completely biased and unfortunately factually incorrect article. Thanks

I am going on 100 days for a change of address through the Hamilton NJSP. I called earlier in the week and asked for an up date and the trooper told me it has been taking anywhere from 60 to 90 days for a change of address. I then told him it has been way over 90 days for me. He told me to hold while he looked at my paperwork and then told me another 2 weeks. I politely asked what why it was taking so long and he told me that they have 4 to 5 times the normal volume so it is taking longer than usual.

20k FPID Applications in the pipeline.
jm1827 replied to rayroka's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
I wouldn't doubt it. In terms of fully loaded costs (pay + benefits), that is probably around 2 to 2.5 hours labor max for a well paid employee with benefits. I would think the total handling time is close to that when you consider background checks etc. -
I have been trying for one of these since January. Stopped by the local TSC in January they told me to call back in Feb. Called back in feb thay said they would have more in March to call back then. Called back last week they said call back in April. Seems like the smaller safes are as hard to find as cheap .22 ammo these days!

OK- so assuming there is a union or at least some sort of protection you can't fire anyone. But, if this were a real business simply look at the average # of nics that each employee does per day or week or month and tell them that for every one you execute over the average you recieve a bonus of X- could be $0.50 or $1 per, either way it would increase production and increase revenue...

Should I follow up with local PD or just wait for the call?

Congrats- I am at the same point as you so hopefully I am getting closer! -
Wow my permits are in, that was FAST!!! :)

Thsi is just another tactic to create additional barriers and hoops for law abiding citizens to jump through. I am going on 14 weeks for my change of address on my FID, very frustrating. -
And are their budget numbers public, such as operating costs and total revenue? Would be nice to know.

Here's where Booker is at on gun control
jm1827 replied to iRescue's topic in Current New Jersey Gun Laws Discussion
If his sights are set on NJ only politics then he will be fine voicing an anti-2A position. But, if he has aspirations beyond NJ, like the White House, then he really needs to at least appear as a moderate on gun control. Depends where he wants to go and when. -
I heard that is what she said to her husband...

Got the same info when I talked to a trooper at the Hamilton Barracks last week. Although he didn't give me an absolute number he did say that the volume was at least 5 times the level he is used to seeing. -
Welcome neighbor! Might try range 14 at Ft Dix.
