  1. Can I ask the really stupid question.. What is this for? Solely for HD? (which I would assume it would have to be). Why would you get her a small snappy 9mm gun for HD? I would think that a bigger, heavier, less recoil 9mm would be more conducive to HD.. Also, the "look good in my safe" comment.... seriously? This can't truly be a consideration here, can it? Also - is she ever planning to shoot this gun on her own? (i.e. go to the range without you)..
  2. https://www.lanbosarmory.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=34607&referrer=cnwr_4191340829622 you're not really going to find them cheaper than this.. i bought a couple from here after much much searching. eBay will not be cheaper, havent really seen them for less than $30 there...
  3. I have a bunch of them. I have not had one NOT work for me yet (not have I had any crack on me). That said, I used them for the range, so there isn't a lot of heavy duty use happening. Given that they're $10/mag cheaper than the Pmags, they are great to stock up on, but I would always have a few pmags hanging around.
  4. And thats why they make different guns.. lol.. i personally find the ergos of the M&P horrible (for me). The feel of the PPQ (and my VP9) are considerably more comfortable in my hand. But everyone likes different things.
  5. You can also use something like the BCM Mod 0 Compensator... http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCMGUNFIGHTER-Compensator-MOD-0-5-56-p/bcm-gfc-mod-0-556.htm or something simple like this: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/550170/dpms-muzzle-brake-branson-1-2-28-thread-ar-15-steel-matte any of the above choices in this thread will keep you legal.
  6. You know what else is nice for holding random loose ammo? Talenti ice cream jars..
  7. Just a note - is Steve has sold the PPQ when you go (or doesnt have another one) but still has the PPQ 22, hold that and it will give you a pretty good idea how the regular PPQ feels in the hand. Yes, it will be slightly lighter (slide not the same material), but the overall ergos of the grip are very similar... (would be comparable to medium back strap)
  8. This... Usually get up there 2 or 3 times a year and just blow them out (once in late spring after the oak strings/whirlies come down, and then in mid-autumn and then again right before winter)..
  9. I have one of these and its good... but personally, im only transporting it back and forth to the range... http://www.midwayusa.com/product/939143291/midwayusa-heavy-duty-tactical-rifle-case
  10. yeah, only allowed to add one.. meh...
  11. Ready Aim Fire in Bristol PA? only about 20 minutes from Delran it seems...

    Why an AR?

This. I dont think I have found a better answer. Pretty much sums it up.
  13. CTD can piss off.. tried to order once from them.. in stock item, only for them to cancel the next day saying OOS, only to have them list it back in stock the next day.. Since then, I don't think I've even gone to their site.
  14. they all sit in a box, unopened.. with the manuals and the other accessories that come with various guns
  15. My town extends on the spot with no questions. In fact, when you pick your permits up in the first place, they tell you that if for any reason you dont use them by the end of the 90 days, bring them in to get extended for another 90.. I just had one that was expiring on 6/5.. Went to the PD on 6/2, and the woman at the desk too it, went back to her desk.. 5 minutes or so later, i had an extended permit in my hand.. It really is dependent on the town.. Some are just less firearm friendly than others.
  16. I have shot the G19.. Not my favorite gun, but unfortunately I shoot it fairly well and may own one in the future, but... I own a VP9 (it is my favorite gun at this point) and I also own a Sig P320 Compact (only shot it once, so my opinion is limited - but it is a nice gun also). PPQ is similar to the VP9 in feel and function, with maybe only a slightly better trigger (and i mean slightly). Magazines for the G19 are BY FAR cheaper than mags for any of the other 3 mentioned. Like to the tune of 50% cheaper. Honestly, you just have to handle them all and see what feels right for you, as they are all quality guns and can't really go wrong on any of them. Steve @ Monmouth Arms is my go-to guy.. Always finds me what I need, very competitive pricing and usually pretty close to online prices after all is said and done (once you include shipping, transfer & NICS to the price of an online gun).. You can certainly handle guns at MA, and you can certainly pay for a gun before having all your paperwork back (and he will hold for you until the paperwork comes in).
  17. Personally, I use the Howard Leight Impact Sport most of the time. If i'm shooting indoor, i add foam plugs under those (louder indoor than outdoor). Recently, I purchased the aforementioned Decibullz and molded them to my ear.. Shot outdoor with only those in (rated up to 31 DB reduction) and they worked perfectly fine for outdoor pistol shooting. Also not sure why you say you cant put muffs over a baseball hat.. I wear nothing BUT baseball hats and i have never had an issue putting muffs over the hat (unless you're wearing something that sits 4" above your head).
  18. ive made a decent sized purchase at Midway the last 2 years with the birthday pricing.. decent savings if you have stuff you actually want to buy there (cases, bags, etc)
  19. most towns have gone to the online version.. did you pay your town the $18 for the background check when you submitted? if not, then chances are you have to.. you may wanna call
