I LOVE these rifles. The Bushmaster ACR will probably be better (as it is incorporating ideas from the SCAR to began with), but I'm not going to speculate about projects. The FN SCAR however is simply outstanding in every way. Had the opportunity to participate in some field tests with it, and it is definitely a battle ready rifle. Whenever I have the opportunity (whether I move out of NJ or NJ revie-- no, that won't happen ), I'm going to definitely get my hands on one of these.

 

The SCAR light variant shoots just the same as any M16/M4 type AR. The SCAR heavy though does kick a bit more then you would think for a 7.62. That was the general consensus.

 

Oh, don't let the plastic-toy look scare you. These babies are FAR more durable then the terribad XM-8... actually, I feel ashamed for bringing the XM-8 up to compare. Either way, the SCAR system is fine, even with the plastic-y feel.
