My New P7M8

Recommended Posts

After some trials and tribulations trying to find the perfect P7M8 for quite some time, I finally found one on Gunbroker not too long ago for an almost suspicious $1,150 that was marked LNIB by a "Not Rated" seller. For those of you who follow these guns, this is about $200-$400 under market price. This set off just about every alarm in my brain, but I had to at least throw out an email. It was KF dated and Robar'd, the owner claimed that it was used very little by the original owner and he had only put about 50-100 rounds through it. Again I was a little skeptical.

After a little back and forth with a very communicative seller with a stellar record on Ebay (this was his first firearm sale on GB), I bit. Hit the "buy it now" button and she was mine. This is what arrived this past Saturday. photo-11.jpg

Of course I had to shoot the thing, so after bringing it home, stripping and oiling the thing (it was absolutely pristine inside) I took her back to the range.

The H&K gurus were not kidding about this gun. The trigger was the sweetest thing I had ever felt, the gun shot soft and supple, and it was pinpoint accurate. Here's a grouping I shot one-handed at 35 feet:

Excellent purchase, great price, phenomenal gun, I couldn't be happier. Any other P7 owners here?

How is the recoil on that?

BBK. I know they sell those targets at bullet hole. On the other side is a man pointing a gun at you.

Affirmative, the targets can be found at BH.

As for the recoil, it's nearly non-existent. The gas-retarded recoil system is very effective, but the gun heats up big time after a few mags. Great for self-defense, but you wouldn't carry it to a war. That's what my HK45 is for ;)

Very cool and congrats!!! ;) You got an excellent pistol for a great price.

I have the P7PSP and it is a tack driver. Extremely accurate pistol with a very unique recoil signature. It feels like it cycles quicker than a typical auto pistol with less flip.

Have to get myself the M8.

Again, congrats!!!

Long time P7M8 owner as well as other P7 variants. The M8 is (in my opinion and for my purposes) the greatest pistol ever devised. God bless Helmut Weldle.

And I agree with the OP. It is not and instrument of war. It is far to sophisticated for that. Enjoy!
