Soaked barrel in White Vinegar for about 6 hours..... hit it with 600 grit.... then started with the Dremel and rouge , and then finally Flitz cream.... Photos dont do it justice..... 67gtonut 847 Posted December 20, 2009 Its 5% acidic...... softens the coating, so you can wipe sand it off easier.... ..... after done soaking...... soak barrel in water and baking soda to offset acid. Then clean and oil barrel as usual... Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Here is a couple of pictures we took when I polished the barrel on my son's XD9. I used a bench buffer with some jewelers rouge and stainless. Two years later and it looks just as shiny!
