BullzeyeNJ 104 Posted May 9, 2011 Man when it comes to practicality the SRS cant be beat! But there were a few things about it I was having trouble with. One was launching my glasses down range if I didnt pull my head up off the stock a little bit when I cycled the bolt. The other was the trigger. I just couldnt warm up to the oddity of the trigger. Overall a good stick but... the barrel swap thing was good on paper but the conversions got so expensive it lost some of that cost effectiveness. So I went back to the trusty 308. If I want a boomer, I build another seperate rifle later. Inbound is a AIAW and an EMC I still have my SRS but have not shot the 338 lapua magnum through it yet. Got the 338 dies, heads, and brass so I'm good to start reloading to feed that hungry beast. I might get a barrel in 260 rem down the road. Wowwza...an AIAW and EMC...the drool is running down my cheeks just thinking about those 2 setups. For me the AICS has not been my friend, I'm one of those people that the ergonomics of that chassis does not fit me well. I've tried all different grips and cheek holds but I just cant shoot straight with that stock. I wish it wouls have worked out for me b/c the love the feel of it. The AIAW is an amazing weapons system though and legendary in status. Same for the EMC.
JSF01 13 Posted May 9, 2011 Can you search that name and where she's been? The only thing I have are the initials and from what I know is that M1917's were used into WWII For SP's which is almost 30 years, so trying to figure out who may have had would be difficult. Do you know of any data bases with a list of military personnel between 1917 and 1945? It would be fun to try to take a stab at it.
Shane45 807 Posted May 9, 2011 The AI was never comfortable for me. The McMillan A5 was. But I could always get a good consistant lock up on the AI if that makes any sense.

The initials are a little tough, but how many servicemen have those 3 initials? Maybe 5.

BullzeyeNJ 104 Posted May 10, 2011 Very nice all around. Makes me want to keep my AICS 2.0 stock a little longer but its best "for both of us" if we go our separate ways now. Have a couple Manners stocks on order so she has got to go. Do you plan on shooting other calibers out of the AIAW in the future Shane?
