We should run a postal match series (as a few other forums do). We pick a PDF target, select a set of rules and gun parameters, and people shoot at their own ranges, on their honor. People mail in their targets, and we post the winners on the forum.

So, for example, we pick some random 8.5x11 PDF target with 6 bulls. Example rules: 1 shot per bull, 100 yds, any rest, 5 minute time limit.

Or, another random PDF target. 10 shots offhand at 50 yards.

Or, another random PDF target. 5 shots at 5 bulls, pistols, one hand, 20 yards.

Etc. We can mix it up with rifles and pistols, range distances, etc.

This would be a fun way to mix it up, get some competition going, make it easy and fun to judge. Max can maybe get a sponsor to throw in a few prizes.

Whatcha think???

Half the challenge of competition is the stress induced by competing in front of your peers... That and this type only really lends its self to static target based shooting.

I will ideally move to PA within the year I hope..

I will ideally buy a house within another year or two..

I am not buying a house unless it comes with enough land to never bother anyone...

once all those things happen.. we shall have whatever shooting contest you like.. and make a day of it..

I'm guessing this has to be done in the presence of other participants. Good idea, maybe just do pistols first. Then when spring time comes you could do the rifles.

No, the idea of a postal match is that you do it at your own range and then mail it in to be scored (thus the "postal"). We assume that no one is going to cheat.
