Trap shooting shell pouches

Recommended Posts

For extended sessions, I like a shell bag on one hip for the live rounds, on the other side attached to the same belt I use a mesh bag to collect my empties. These are just two examples. The all-mesh bag is good for it allows any dirt and debris to sift out and to me that's less soot that you have to take home. Kolpin shell bags are like $20, Bob Allen's are a bit more. Mesh bags are less than $20. There are some fellows at the range with leather-tooled monogrammed bags that cost in excess of $200, but you don't need to go to such extreme.

I use the Browning labeled one that Walmart sells. It's divided into 2 sections. One section will hold a full box of shells in the cardboard (very useful for counting to 5) and I toss the empties into the second section. Works well, and I think it was less than 20 bucks.

Sorta ditto. I purchased something very similar at Dicks. It was $20.

Me too, and my second section is mesh with a zipper on the bottom so it's really easy to empty the used shells without turning the pouch upside down.

Gotta love a decent belted shell bag. But for most seasons besides summer I like a bob Allen shooting.g jacket with biiiig pockets that easily hold a box of shells. Now if your.reloading. you may want a shell bag/mesh spent hull bag combo (on phone sorry no reference pic)

We all know how much of a hassle that can be. I mean all the way upside down, who has that kind of time?!?

Question(shotgun newbie)-Why cant you use a vest. Cabelas has a nice one on sale. As a matter of fact they are having a trap sale right now.

Sizing may be an issue... I'd like one that fits nice. A belt is good because it let's me choose what to wear without wearing a vest.

How about a zip up hoodie? Full shells in one pocket, empty hulls in the other.

You'll be escorted off the range at Hudson Farm. No problem anywhere else.
