Hello from Morris County

Hello, glad to have found this forum. I'm a Morris county shooter, and have been into firearms for about 12 years now. I used to shoot a lot at Ray's Sport Shop until they closed down. Since that happened, and since having kids, I haven't had much time to shoot in the past two years. I'm looking to slowly get back into it.

Anyhow, just wanted to say hi, and also, find out what ranges are good around Morris County. I mostly shoot pistols.

Doesn't Somerset County Fish require a reference from a current member? I don't know anyone who is currently a member there now unfortunately. Plus, if there are mandatory hours you have to put in, that may be tough too.

 

I've gone to Bullet Hole a few times, but the last time I went on a weekend, it was way too crowded.

 

Any feedback/info about the Bayonne range?

Depending where you are there's Cherry Ridge, Somerset, Shongum, and the ranges nearer to NYC.

No. And work days are only required the first year. After that they get you $$ off dues but they're not required.

$45 per year with a work day; $90 without a work day, I believe.

1. The applicant must be sponsored by a member in good standing. If the applicant does not have a sponsor, the applicant must:

i. Supply two (2) letters of recommendation attesting to the applicant’s character and or past experience in the safe use of firearms.

and Cherry Ridge is the first Sunday every month you can join.
