I completely forgot about this thread until Maksim and Ray Ray brought it back to life. More than a little late but here are some pics of my STI Off-Duty. It is bone stock and feels fantatsic in the shooting hand.

 

All of that crap you see on the slide and frame isn't really there; I just hit it with a silicone cloth and that crud only shows up with the flash!

 

 

And in its custom C5 OWB crossdraw duds!

That would be the STI Shadow. Almost went there but decided I wanted the steel frame. However, soon after buting the STI Dan Wesson announced their Officer 1911 will be released at the Shot Show. I have one on pre-order.

Yes and no.

 

On the "no" side: Some will say that it might get in the way in a holster, or flicked on or off in a holster, or be accidentally engaged when it's time to shoot.

 

On the "yes" side: You can use your week-hand to run the gun.

 

As a southpaw, it's a must. I can't use the gun if the safety is right-hand only.
