BOOMSTICK 6 Posted December 12, 2012 Morning all... I'm looking for a fairly decent 5.56 MID LENGTH upper.....but in my price range of 500-600 bucks (or cheaper). This will be a range/plinker but would like to be accurate to at least 150 yards. This will go on a CMMG "MULTI" lower. Any recommendations are appreciated. Or if you are looking to get rid of one, hit me up if it fits my needs. Thanks James

Purple Patrick 638 Posted December 12, 2012 http://www.jsesurplus.com/BD16in1x7clm4riflekit-1.aspx I got the entire kit which you may or may not need but you can customize pretty much anything you want! Called to ask a question and they answered right away and got my order very quick

checko 180 Posted December 12, 2012 http://www.stagarms.com/product_info.php?cPath=14_24&products_id=244 This is what I have. Still under your budget with the Plus Package (I highly recommend it) I have the upgraded hand guards though. They will make it ban compliant for free. Super happy with it, have several thousand rounds through it. Others will say how Stag isnt a top quality manufacturer. I would stand behind this with my life. Believe me you aren't the only one looking and waiting for this to come back in stock.(because I am one of them waiting for this as well) Unless you are patient, hold out for that one. I believe a few guys on here have the same upper.

MarkWVU02 47 Posted December 13, 2012 buy BCM...their quality is worth it Couldn't agree more with that statement. For a bit less palmetto state armory does pretty good uppers. My buddy has one and it's a nice shooter.

johnp 45 Posted December 13, 2012 This was listed as a black Friday deal, but it is the same price and in stock. I bought one, haven't shot it yet, but this thing is stupid light. And I really like the moe handguard. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XAIM16LWT&name=AIM+16%22+CHF+Midlength+MOE+.223%2f5.56+Lightweight+URG&groupid=
BOOMSTICK 6 Posted December 13, 2012 So what's making the Spike's uppers so popular? Price? Logo?
Krdshrk 3,880 Posted December 13, 2012 Pre-pinned 14.5" midlength that's almost NJ Legal (just have to remove the bayo lug which is easy to do by yourself).
BOOMSTICK 6 Posted December 13, 2012 I got an offer to purchase a Daniel Defense 14.5 middy, 1:7 with a pinned Battle Comp 1.5 with a couple extras for just above what my stated budget is. I might go for that.
Krdshrk 3,880 Posted December 13, 2012 Brand new or used? I'd say go for it if it's new.

Krdshrk 3,880 Posted December 13, 2012 What handguard? Flip sights? Comes with BCG? If so then it sounds like a decent deal.
BOOMSTICK 6 Posted December 13, 2012 What handguard? Flip sights? Comes with BCG? If so then it sounds like a decent deal. It's got a mid moe on it which I like better anyways. Front fixed, rear flip up, magpul afg2, DD BCG, DD charging handle.

BOOMSTICK 6 Posted December 13, 2012 Do it I think I am. Now all I need is a stock set up. I was thinking about the new Magpul A2 stock since we can't adjust them anyways. Anyone have a stock set up laying around that needs a home on a DD AR?
Maximus 16 Posted December 13, 2012 I picked up the same Spikes upper from Aim. Add your name to the notification list at Aim. I got mine last month and only had to wait a couple of weeks before they had them back in stock.
