Shawnmoore81 623 Posted January 21, 2013 Is this brand any good? I see their stuff all over amazon
alec.mc 180 Posted January 21, 2013 I use a bunch of their stuff in my reloading gear. Bullet puller media seperator scale it's held up pretty good, it's cheap - and get's the job done.
Nikos 31 Posted January 21, 2013 Same here -- no problems thus far with their products.
NJKen 23 Posted January 22, 2013 I have a bullet puller, media separator, and several reloading trays from them. All perform well. I like the reloading trays more than any other period. I threw out a few others after I got them. Ken
njJoniGuy 2,133 Posted January 22, 2013 FA is one of Midway USA's private labels. I use A LOT of their stuff!
PeteF 1,044 Posted January 22, 2013 I think of them as the Harbor Freight of reloading. Some items are okay and do the intended function, others a complete waste of money.
Melgamatic 66 Posted January 22, 2013 I think of them as the Harbor Freight of reloading. This is right on target. My brass separator spinning ball thing is FA, and it's "OK." I look at nicer ones and see how they are better, but probably not better enough to justify the purchase. I suspect fit and finish is a little nicer on other brands, but I can live with it. Jon 264 Posted January 22, 2013 My scale jumps around a little bit, but it's within .1-.2gr as far as consistancy, which is good enough for me for the time being.
Urban Grunt 44 Posted January 22, 2013 It's cheap but functional .
ronhonda 86 Posted January 22, 2013 Tumblers and the soon to be re-released Vibra Prime are pretty good from FA. The Vibra Prime was extremely popular with reloaders but for whatever reason, it was no longer being made. They sold for around $27.00 and people have been getting 3x the original cost as of late. Krdshrk 3,878 Posted January 22, 2013 I got the bullet puller and scale as well... Have yet to use but will soon
ronhonda 86 Posted January 22, 2013 a beam scale or digital?
Jon 264 Posted January 22, 2013 I have the digi scale.
tennturk 9 Posted January 23, 2013 I can't speak for Frankford Arsenal, but for cases, trays, etc. I'll spend a couple extra bucks on MTM products because everything has a "Made in USA" on them.
unclenunzie 3 Posted January 23, 2013 I have FA calipers. OK but I'd rather have spent more money on a higher quality dial caliper (mine is electronic lcd, I use it but don't care for it). It's serviceable.

They sold for around $27.00 and people have been getting 3x the original cost as of late. They got discontinued because they didn't sell well enough. When they started shipping more shortly before they nixed them, it was time for new molds and tooling, and they didn't think the market was there at increased prices. Since I've seen them go for $125 and more, I think the proof is there for supporting higher prices. Either that or a factory in china needed something to keep them from going idle. I actually called FA a couple of years ago asking why they ceased production and the answer they gave was something along the lines of did not sell well and coming out with a newer model. I am fortunate to have 2 VP but, I would love to have a Dillon primer filler.
AverageJoe 95 Posted January 23, 2013 I forget who it was, maybe Jon?...told me to stay away from their bullet puller, the way the metal rod transfers energy to the hard plastic handle.
