building an ar how to get the least blast or quietest

Recommended Posts

So im trying to build an ar that the blast felt to the sides is minimal. what would be the best way to do this? should i do a crowned barrel? or use one the the muzzle brakes that is used to reduce blast? i plan on doing this on a 20" so length will not matter.

Long crowned barrel with a clamp on bloop tube will get you the quietest you can get. Well without having something custom made and dealing with the issue of what makes something a sound suppressor.

I'm having a Surefire brake put on a BCM upper right now. The side blast is going to suck for others around me, but I'm more interestd in keeping the muzzle as flat as can be.
