jds560 0 Posted April 4, 2013 I have a chance to get either a Sig P6 or an FN Hi Power for roughly the same price. The low price reflects the condition on the Hi Power, but it's a real FN Belgian. What's the better buy?
Krdshrk 3,877 Posted April 4, 2013 Sig P225/P6's weren't that pricey to begin with. When they were in stock, Wideners had 'em for $389 w/ 2 mags and holster. http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=100000455&dir=700|1012|1026

The P225 (civilian version of the P6) was always more expensive than its surplus bretheren. P225's are almost always >$500, unless they are in really bad condition. Not a lot of differences, but enough the P225 rollmark on the slide means about a $200 upcharge. Adios, Pizza Bob
hiker88 22 Posted April 4, 2013 If the FN is mechanically good, go for the FN Hi Power. Have it refinished and you're golden. here are awesome examples of custom Hi-Powers by well known smiths :http://forum.ltwguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9269
twong11219 0 Posted April 5, 2013 Like hiker said, I'd go for the HP and get it beautified by one of those smiths. That's one of my long term goals though. If you're not looking to customize it, then even a refinishing can bring it back to life. Look into accessories as well. Not sure how readily available P6 mags are, but HPs are still in production. More parts and accessories available.
