SgtToadette 59 Posted May 11, 2013 As we all know, ammunition is pretty damn hard to find, and even harder to find at a decent price. For me, the hardest to find has been by far 9mm. I've been able to grab some .223/5.56 by doing a run around the area gun shops, but everyone is flat out of 9mm. In the last week, for example, I was able to get 160 rounds of .223/5.56 and only 50 rounds of 9mm. Granted, this is only at local shops. While the rationing is making it difficult to buy in any significant quantity, it has helped me secure a few boxes. Plus, it would seem that most shops have been keeping the price relatively fair compared to many of the online venues (most I've paid for 9mm is 17.99 per 50). Just curious what your guys' experience has been.
Kingsoverqueens 10 Posted May 11, 2013 22lr. It's available, but I'm not paying 9mm prices for it.
SgtToadette 59 Posted May 11, 2013 22lr. It's available, but I'm not paying 9mm prices for it. True. I forgot to add it to the poll. It's now an option.
jm1827 284 Posted May 11, 2013 Definitely 22 LR, especially since I can't reload it!
Mikeythumbs 1 Posted May 11, 2013 9 mm I have over 5000 rds of 22 right now so I haven't been looking for it
blksheep 466 Posted May 11, 2013 .22lr. We are driving back from Florida up 95. I am calling every big shop I see, Gander, Dicks etc and they are all out.
SgtToadette 59 Posted May 12, 2013 I find it strange that .22lr is so scarce since there's really no way in hell that .22lr is ever going to be affected by an ammo ban. Maybe people are hesitant to shoot their center-fire ammo and resort to .22lr? Who knows!
blksheep 466 Posted May 12, 2013 Probably the reason.
Secret Squirrel 3 Posted May 12, 2013 .22LR and 9mm by far. I have about 120rds of 9mm left and maybe 40 rounds of .22lr. I love those two calibers but i have to stop shooting them because i'm almost out
NJSigfan 218 Posted May 12, 2013 .22lr at decent prices. I'm still finding 9mm for about 16 bucks per 50 round box
Shortfuse 39 Posted May 12, 2013 .22lr CB Longs Subsonic 710 fps only have 6 rounds left anybody willing to part with a few rounds pm me
Brownie^HP 6 Posted May 12, 2013 Maybe it's because the ammo manufacturers are just focusing on making centerfire ammo. Dicks in Union has not had 22lr in months.
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted May 12, 2013 .22. I have a few bricks though. Plus boxes of specialty .
leadunderpressure 52 Posted May 12, 2013 22lr has been hardest to find consistently at pre-scare prices. 300 blackout is nearly non existent but was rough to find beforehand. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
71ragtopgoat 23 Posted May 12, 2013 22 LR for sure. 9mm I was able to trade for and still find at decent prices. But 22 Lr is near impossible. .556 is another tough round to be had. 45 I'm well stocked with so I never checked. 17 hmr is like finding a unicorn as well .LOL
Damjan 73 Posted May 12, 2013 22lr and 9mm are hard to find for me in a store. I m always looking for Tokarev ammo and have a hard time finding it but that s normal for this round as its not that common. Surplus Tok ammo has shot through the roof and i m sure its all gone. Mid week at Cabelas there s plenty of stuff to be had usually. This was 10 days ago. You just have to take a drive out there. Wednesdays are the best in the evening. 22LR very scarce but at decent prices.......8$ for 100 mini mags Lot of 223/556 , prices ranging from 9.99$ a box 38 special for 20$ 357 for 25$ There were cases of Federal 9 mm 500 rds in a 50 cal can for 180$

themuna 0 Posted May 15, 2013 In the Middlesex/Mercer County areas, I'm not seeing much of any kind of handgun ammo and barely any buckshot either.
