HolyHandGrenade 0 Posted June 3, 2013 Just a boring stock Glock, but it's finally in the safe! Shot it today and absolutely LOVE this gun. The growing collection... The G19 is my better halves...

Bambinomontana 0 Posted June 3, 2013 I'm sure you already have a mental list of mods going... I have the g35 with the lone wolf conversion barrel, the 40 has a nice kick though.
Maksim 1,504 Posted June 3, 2013 Nice. I love the two tone.
HolyHandGrenade 0 Posted June 3, 2013 Hey, thanks. I did have a list of mods, but after shooting it, I really think I'll just leave it alone. I really like it as is. I don't know... Decisions, decisions... Any mod suggestions?
specopsscout 26 Posted June 3, 2013 I carried mine off duty for eight years. The Glock 35 is a great gun. Congrats on the addition. I really like Glock's FDE and OD frames. The only real mod I'd suggest is a nice set of night sights, if not already equipped.
Bambinomontana 0 Posted June 3, 2013 I did the 25 cent polish job and added a tungsten rod. The Tungsten rod helps with the recoil, since it's a little heavier than stock. I plan to get better sights, like the sevigny or heine sights
Maksim 1,504 Posted June 3, 2013 Ok, I am a glock newbie, but what is a 25 cent trigger job exactly?
specopsscout 26 Posted June 3, 2013 I like the Heine sights and have had them on a few of my pistols. If you've never had them before, you might want to check them out on someone else's gun first. They are taller then most other makers; not quite to the level of suppressor sights, but noticeably taller then many others.
iRescue 0 Posted June 3, 2013 Ok, I am a glock newbie, but what is a 25 cent trigger job exactly? Maks I believe it comes from using the polishing pad on something like a Drexel to shine up the connect rod on trigger assembly.... 25cent portion alludes to the cheap Ness of it. A-Tech 8 Posted June 4, 2013 It's basically a polish job on the connector and trigger bar. With the gen4, you can also smooth out the safety bump on the trigger bar.
Old Glock guy 1,127 Posted June 4, 2013 The only real mod I'd suggest is a nice set of night sights, if not already equipped. I would concur with that. I have the Trijicon HD's. The big orange front sight is great for my aging eyes. http://www.trijicon.com/na_en/products/product1.php?id=HDNS
brocglock23 4 Posted June 4, 2013 No such thing as just a boring gun, let alone a Glock! Is there any reason why you choose the 35 over a 23 or 22? Are you gonna try competitive shooting or IDPA?
HolyHandGrenade 0 Posted June 4, 2013 I chose the G35 simply because I've never had one. I've had 22 in the past, as well as a 27. I use the 21 for HD, so the 35 is more of a toy. I like the 35 more than the 21 though, so they may switch places... I probably will end up putting a nice set of night sights on the 35 either way. I have Mepro's on the 21, but I like the look of the HD's. We'll see I guess.

Considering you've shot both do you think there is an accuracy difference with the longer sight radius and barrel? I ask because I've considered selling my 23 and getting a 22 but now you have me thinking.

I have 2 G22's, both a gen 3 and 4 that waiting on nics on. the recoil difference is most notable. The g35 vs g22, weight is basically the same due to the slide cuts. You get longer sight radius and faster velocity due to longer barrel. If you can reload, you can really tailor ammo to your gun, to the point where 40 does not feel bad. Most factory 40 is loaded hotter than you would be using for most gun games.

iRescue 0 Posted June 4, 2013 I think you have me considering a 40 as well. I have two 9mm Glocks. Need to diversify.
High Exposure 5,674 Posted June 4, 2013 Congrats on the Purchase, I really like the colored frame too - I didn't know they were making the G35 in frame colors. I have a G27, a G23, a G22 and 2 G35s. I shoot the G35 much better than the others. One of my G35s is completely stock, the other...

HolyHandGrenade 0 Posted June 4, 2013 I owned the 22 and 27 years ago, so a comparison now would probably not be too accurate... I can tell you that I do marginally better with the 35 than the 21. I think it's a combination of the slimmer grip, lesser recoil, and lighter trigger. I'm sure the longer barrel and sight plane don't hurt either though. As far as grouping between the two, I couldn't tell you. I was shooting steel plates. I was hitting 9 of 10 with the 35 and 7-8 with the 21. BUT, when the five plates went down, I would move on to smaller hanging targets. Those I hit considerably more with the 35. Does that help at all? LOL! High Exposure 5,674 Posted June 5, 2013 Trijicon RMR02 with Ameriglo Suppressor Height BUIS. Slide was milled, refinished in Coyote/FDE Cerakote, and the sights were installed by Mark Housel at L&M Precision Gun Works in AZ.
Maksim 1,504 Posted June 5, 2013 Was that original glock slide?
High Exposure 5,674 Posted June 5, 2013 No, it is a Lone Wolf Distributors. I wanted an original Glock slide, but they are apparently made of Unobtanium. I also looked at: The Caspian Glock slides - they were much more expensive and an unknown quality as they were brand new to the market at the time. And The One Source Tactical milled slides - they didn't have a G35 length and I didn't want to give Gabe Suarez (cough *criminal douchebag* cough) any of my money. The LWD was available, affordable, a known quantity as far as QC/CS, I found it in-stock at the Dillon Precision web store, and it had the forward serrations which I really like. All of the other internal slide parts are Glock OEM except the barrel (The KKM is quite nice for a drop in barrel. More accurate than I am, that's for sure). I have been very happy with the total package.

blksheep 466 Posted June 5, 2013 I am thinking of using my 22 frame and doing the same thing but finding OEM 35 slide and barrel is a pain.
High Exposure 5,674 Posted June 5, 2013 It startedife as a Gen 3 Glock 35 that I bought in 2005 to carry off duty because I hated our issued S&W 4013TSW. When I started shooting in some comps and decided to "play" with the guts of the gun, I bought a second G35 which I left stock (except new Ameriglo Operator Pro sights, Vickers Mag release, and a plastic magwell) to carry. I died t want to mess with a carry gun because most importantly, I knew I could effect the reliability of the Glock and second, there is always the fear of using a "modified" gun in a deadly force encounter and having an attorney bring up all this BS about you carrying a gun with a "Hair Trigger" to damage your side of the story even though it has no bearing on a justified shoot. Once I had the new G35, I started "tweaking" my other G35 for comps - new slide, "-" connector, titanium plunger, new striker, plunger, and trigger springs, the new barrel.
