sinter 4 Posted July 18, 2013 I live in Oakland and I just noticed that my mayor joined the Bloomberg group. I've always found her to be quite reasonable and quite intelligent. My expectation is that she joined based on the the groups name and the propaganda/lies that Bloomberg uses to sell his group. My question is this: does anyone know of a website that concisely lists the things that the MAIG have done that are questionable/despicable? I'd like to schedule meeting with her and I like to have all my ducks in a row.
Dan_G 0 Posted July 18, 2013 Mine joined too, Mahwah.
Vlad G 345 Posted July 18, 2013 You should be contacting them and letting them know what you think about that.
voyager9 3,442 Posted July 18, 2013 Did they just join.. or did you just notice? You may want to take a different tact depending on the answer.
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted July 18, 2013 You could point out some of the esteemed company your mayor will be joining:
RUTGERS95 890 Posted July 18, 2013 You should be contacting them and letting them know what you think about that. absolutely, especially in small towns and who knows, you may even be able to have a sitdown. my mayor is my neighbor and comes to the range with me
jm1827 284 Posted July 18, 2013 Give them a call, then follow up with an email and then a written letter. If you can get any others in your town to do the same go for it. We have a group of 6 of us from my town that share similar beliefs and when ever 1 of us sends somrthing in, either at the local or at the state level, we all send it in. However her election Victory was very close and mostly due to the fact that the Republicans continued to support a incumbent mayor who was ineffective and divisive unless he was doing something self serving. The town is conservative and gun friendly politically So I would instead write to the board president about your dissatisfaction with the Mayor's stance on guns. They will make as much hay with it as they can.
PeteF 1,044 Posted July 18, 2013 You can remind her about how MAIG thinks the Boston bomber is a victim of gun violence.

71ragtopgoat 23 Posted July 18, 2013 I won't live in Bergen County due to the liberal BS. Thats funny! I'll Put my Congressman Scott Garrett against any other congressman in NJ to see who is more conservative. And really the whole state is liberal BS as we know. bravozulu14 0 Posted July 18, 2013 Judging by the membership list it looks like every mayor in NJ is a member. repugnant isn't even the word. With everything that's come out about this group and their real agenda... there's no excuse here. They agree with that message. Those who realized what was going on have left the boat. 71ragtopgoat 23 Posted July 18, 2013 Just fired off a letter to her. I know it will get filed in the round bin.But what the hay " "I was just informed that you joined this anti second amendment group of leftists. In dealing with you as a client and a voter I must say you never struck me as being way to the left in politics. Therefore I assume you really joined this group without really knowing to much about them. I urge you to become more informed about groups such as these before signing on to join them. They may be fashionable in certain democratic circles. But those circles do not reflect the beliefs and values of most of the people in this town. So I ask that you quit this group till you learn more about there radical agenda. And while I have your ear say NO!!!! on anything for any reason on sewers down main street. If I want a urban downtown I will travel or move to an area that has one. Lets keep Oakland's small town atmosphere. That's why we moved here and your grandkids will thank you for doing that one day. Best wishes"

It looks to me that most of the mayors from NJ are from North Jersey and the more liberal areas in South Jersey such as Camden and Atlantic City, but, overall, there aren't that many mayors from South Jersey on that list as far as I can tell. And really the whole state is liberal BS as we know. He's mine, too, up in Sussex County. However, he more or less walks the party line... Definitely not a RINO, but definitely not a leader. He's one of the few. Most of Bergen County is liberal.
