So the mag limit question

Recommended Posts

I would have told him to fugg off.

Now now, that's being nice.

You ask for his name, and then ask him if he is an LEO or just impersonating one. Then tell him he is free to inspect them, but that you need his contact information in case actual police ever did find them to not be compliant, he could be sued for his ensuing professional legal advice.

I think the term is "permanently altered" so they can NEVER under ANY circumstances be converted back to their original capacity.  Accomplishing this is another story.  Welds can be ground off,  epoxy can be removed,  etc.  There is no clear answer IMO.

for serious. i don't condone breaking the law nor do i break it myself but when your at a gun range you hope that everyone there is on our side and not nit picking to get someone with poor judgement in trouble for a stupid pointless law.

to the OP: check out these two links and read them once a day for about a month and then once a month or so for the rest of your life or until you move out of NJ. they are very informative and will help you remember whats what in this messed up state.

Last Sunday morning, shooting at South Jersey Shooting Club - using a "blocked" 15/30. A guy came up to me, started whar seemed like (and very well could of been) a friendly converstaion about my state compliant Bushmaster. Before the conversation was over he checked that my stock was fixed, questioned how my muzzle brake was fixed, and unloaded and reloaded one of my 15/30 mags just to be sure it wouldn't hold more than 15 rounds.

Like I said, it was all in friendly conversation, but I'm going to keep an eye out for this guy - he was very knowledgable - for now I'm just assuming his intentions were to help me out?

sorry i dont trust anybody. I would have asked him if he was LEO. If he wasnt then i would have removed my belongings from his possession and left immediately.

I was shooting an AR at Range 14(Ft Dix) today with pinned 15/30s and a range official demanded to inspect my magazines for compliance.
