Shops that will hold a gun while FID in process....

Anyone know of any shops that'll hold something for you while your FID is in process? I was told 5 months from NJSP and im only 5 weeks in. Its a change of address, so im certain there wont be any issues becides the wait. Im looking to scoop a couple of lower receivers so it wont take up much real estate.

Just go purchase them out of state, is that an option?

You still need a FID. You MUST follow the law of your home state. Whether you purchase something at a NJ FFL or a PA one, they must follow federal law which states that the home state laws apply.

Cheyenne in Hamilton told me they will hold indefinitely as long as it's paid for.

I believe that if they're sold as a long gun they're ok. If it's "other" then yes. I could be wrong.

Call around, or buy through their store and I'm sure they will hold it as long as you buy it from them and drop a down payment.

If the receiver doesn't have a stock attached to it must go through a dealer in the state where you reside.

If the firearm doesn't go bang, it is a receiver. A stock on a receiver is still a receiver. It needs to be complete to purchase out of state.
