Howard 538 Posted December 10, 2013 Today was their day, they loved it. My Prius did not want to go out in the snow, so I did not get to the range to shoot my guns but I did get out to shoot my cameras:
siderman 1,140 Posted December 10, 2013 Beautiful dog. This snow was the first for my two rescue pups (5 months old) and we couldnt wait to see what they would do. They LOVED it! Was truly a lot of fun watching them run, eat it, play, eat it, wrestle, eat it....they typically chase each other at top speed anyway and was more hysterical seeing them do 10' wipeout slides lol! jrfly3006 42 Posted December 10, 2013 Absolutely gorgeous...reminds me of my Alaskan Malamute..when it snowed she'd go out and park her fanny in the snow and stay there all day...miss that dog
deerpark 83 Posted December 11, 2013 I dont know much about these types of dogs but I think its safe to assume that they are traditionally from cold environments. Do they ever become accustomed to the warm weather, no longer able to deal with or enjoy the cold?
Howard 538 Posted December 11, 2013 Nope, their fur is like a thermos. It keeps hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold -- but how does it know? They like to sun bathe on the blacktop driveway when it is 95 degrees our and lay on the ice in Feb when it's 5 degrees out.
seamusSU 0 Posted December 11, 2013 Those are the best pictures yet! Beautiful dog.
wink-_-wink 1 Posted December 11, 2013 My year and a half old German Shepherd was IN HEAVEN the first day when we got more snow. When my boots shifted the snow and it made that sound he would FLIP OUT! chasing the snow coming off my feet as we walked running in circles and burying his nose trying to eat it. Snow balls were a lot of fun too! He had a blast.

No problems with the pads at all. I have had other dogs where the snow melts in there and they end up with ice clumps hanging, but not with these guys at all. Porthole 15 Posted December 13, 2013 We have an issue with snow on the pads, and for the long hair version,a chest full of snowballs is common and comical. Before every snowfall I try and trim the feet as tight as I can. And yesterday I went out and bought a high end Andis clipper to ease the job a bit. Dewhitewolf 8 Posted December 21, 2013 Beautiful dogs! It really made me smile to look at the pics of them having fun in snow. I've been without a dog for a little over a year now; she was a mix breed that I rescued. She really loved the snow, too.
