Golf battery 1,223 Posted April 12, 2014 Just got the call. It will be in on tuesday. Anyone else out there have one? Likes dislikes?
Blake 50 Posted April 12, 2014 I want one, but for the price decided to go with a used ed brown or wilson. Looking for a regular colt rail gun though.
BlueLineFish 615 Posted April 12, 2014 Good luck with it. Heard there was a lot of quality control problems and that the rail was prone to breaking.

Pizza Bob 1,488 Posted April 13, 2014 If this one is marked USMC, I'd grab it. It's my understanding that those for civilian sale will no longer be so marked. Instant collector item. Adios, Pizza Bob
SgtToadette 59 Posted April 13, 2014 I think this makes you a Coltoholic!
checko 180 Posted April 13, 2014 I like it. Love colt 1911s. But not at that price.
Shawnmoore81 623 Posted April 13, 2014 Only way I'd buy it is if I were a marine. It's basically a rail gun painted and with night sights I think. Nice gun though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Shawnmoore81 623 Posted April 13, 2014 Copied this from another forum Yes the marine does come from the custom shop What are the differences between the two other than production numbers ? colt marine Novak® 3 Dot Night Sights Enhanced Hammer Ambidextrous Safety Lock Long, Solid Aluminum Trigger Flat, Serrated Mainspring Housing with Lanyard Loop Desert Tan Cerakoted Stainless Steel Receiver and Slide 5” National Match® Barrel MIL-STD-1913 Accessory Rail colt rail Novak® Low Mount Carry Sights with Dots Enhanced Hammer Extended Ambidextrous Safety Lock Colt Upswept Beavertail Grip Safety 3-Hole Aluminum Trigger Lowered and Flared Ejection Port M1913 Picatinny Rail 5"National Match® Barrel Front and Rear Slide Serrations Other than the finish, grips w/ larger screws , night sights, lanyard, both have rails but the marine saya "MIL-STD-1913 Accessory Rail" Vs. the colt rail a M1913 Picatinny Rail
Golf battery 1,223 Posted April 15, 2014 I can tell the differences by listing one to another. The m45 has dual recoil springs. That was missed. And some other stuff. I was asking if anyone has any experience with it. As. Likes dislikes. Comprende or not ? Wtf.

bhunted 887 Posted April 15, 2014 They had one come in at OSA the other day and it lasted less than one day. Came through so fast, I blinked. Gone! Went for over 3g.... Yeesh. Would have liked to see it just for kicks. Sent from my iPad 2 using T2 Pro
pbkid6974 1 Posted April 15, 2014 i have a rail gun. its a pretty sweet shooter. mags are garbage tho and i haven't gotten around to buying any good ones yet so it remains a range toy.

Scrap 4 Posted April 16, 2014 So I just called Colt because I wanted to know what the deal is exactly. They said that the change is "and only is" it won't say whatever it said previously, Colt Marine Pistol? and have that NSN marking thing, it will have M45A1 on it and that is it. (I am not sure how true it is I am just saying what Louis at Colt Customer Service just told me.) He also told me I could get one simply by ordering from a Colt dealer, and I specifically asked, "Are they going to say "can't get them" or what?" and he says, they definitely are available and filling all orders, just a 6-8 month wait. (and of course they're expensive). TIFWIW.
bry@n 195 Posted April 16, 2014 I want one, but for the price decided to go with a used ed brown or wilson. Looking for a regular colt rail gun though. Not worth the $$ imo. Id go to any of the semi custom builders for that money.
Blake 50 Posted April 16, 2014 Not worth the $$ imo. Id go to any of the semi custom builders for that money. The marine or the regular rail gun? I agree with you on the marine but a regular colt rail gun can be had for 1k. I want to compare it to the e series I recently bought. I like that all the controls are stainless vs black on the s&w. An ed brown or wilson is also getting bought on this round of permits hopefully.
bry@n 195 Posted April 16, 2014 I've shot the e series guns. Not bad but they aren't really tight. Shoot well and better than j can if course.
BullzeyeNJ 104 Posted April 16, 2014 I think its overpriced and underwhelming for what you get. And I am a 1911 collector.
Golf battery 1,223 Posted April 17, 2014 You might be a 1911 collector. But are you a marine. Thats the difference. So from what i can read. No one out there has one.
gunguy1960 2 Posted April 17, 2014 The only downside is the finish, prone to chipping off, for me that would be a big downside to any gun with that.
Golf battery 1,223 Posted May 5, 2014 The finish is cerakote. Prone to chipping. Hellooo. Yeah i guess it is. Its cerakote. Smack.
