Where to shoot long range.

Recommended Posts

Saugerties, NY has a 500 yard range. Camp Smith, right by West Point has a 600 yard range for matches.

Over the border in PA, there's water and wings which has a 500 yard range.

Cumberland, NJ has a 600 yard range. All of these have various membership requirements and fees.

I don't know of any long ranges that are public.

Cumberland is A member only range. But we do have numerous sanctioned shoots that are open the the public.

If interested in matches let me know and I can get info to you.

Yes we do have A great 600 yd range. Not A gravel pit.

can I use you for reference/sponsor on wait list?

This is the site for the matches at Cumberland:

http://www.cumberlandmatches.com/

Make sure you're looking at the 2015 schedule (It will default to 2015 after New Years)

The Saturday MidRange and F-class matches are all slow prone on the 600yd range.

Once you've got a zero at that distance, and can keep all your shots on the paper (about 5' square) you'll get some really good practice.

I use the MidRange Prone matches as my way of getting 600yd practice for the 600yd part of the Sunday Across the Course matches.

Across the Course is really a lot of fun. (200-200-300-600yd)

The Tuesday night rifle league practices each stage of the Across the Course match.

All these activities are open to non-members

And btw, Long Range is considered to be 800yd and longer.

Closest to me in South Jersey is Bridgeville DE
