High Exposure 5,671 Posted April 25, 2016 It's definitely fun, I shot a G18 once down at Blackwater. Almost impossible to keep hits in a Q target past 15 yards. I am sure with practice, it would get easier, but man, it just wants to run away from you.
MidwestPX 172 Posted April 25, 2016 I've got one. Neat toy but rather impractical without a stock.
mikeyjones 88 Posted April 26, 2016 I saw that video last week. We can only dream of it in NJ NJ does allow full auto NFA items, just need a letter from a judge explaining how it's in the public interest for you to own it.... But SBR are not allowed. n4p226r 105 Posted April 27, 2016 That doesn't change the fact that there are no civilian registered g18s and only a manufacturer can make a full auto g17 kit.
Howard 538 Posted April 27, 2016 Sure glad these things are not legal - I could not afford the ammo I would go through with it

NJGF 375 Posted April 27, 2016 The closest I got was picking one up at a Glock Armorers course. I felt I was violating some NJ statute just by touching it!
mipafox 438 Posted April 29, 2016 That doesn't change the fact that there are no civilian registered g18s and only a manufacturer can make a full auto g17 kit. I know somebody that has one. Converted Glock G17, not a G18. Transferrable. The price was...astronomical. Supposedly there are two out there. That being said, if it was your life's goal to have one, it's really not that hard to get your SOT as long as you are willing to work in the gun business. And dealers can get G18s with love letters, which is also not that hard. Not just manufacturers converting 17s.

Any actual G18 in SOT hands is a result of the agency selling it.

Vlad G 345 Posted April 30, 2016 Full auto handguns are an interesting bag of bees. On one hand sure why not, on the other hand I feel like anyone who trains enough with one to make it not a hazard to his own side could probably put the same effective number of rounds on target faster with a semi. I'm all for people owning full auto guns without special paperwork, but I've never personally wanted one, pistol or rifle.

Also a 50 cal while I am at it!

But the use case for one for a civilian is essentially a smile maker and money waster. Depending on how you look at it.

But, that's what makes this a great country.
