Ice Boating on the Navesink

If you are feeling bored and want to do something interesting today, check out the ice boat fleet at the North Shrewsbury Ice Boat & Yacht Club.  You may also be able to see (or do) some ice skating and eel fishing too.

EDIT:  Don't bother going today.  There is a lot of snow on the ice and apparently they don't sail on snow.  I didn't even see eelers or ice skaters out there. The ice seemed very thick though, looked like at least a foot.

That's cool.. shame it snowed on top of it.. Maybe will get some rain to freeze over the top and smooth it out.. played a lot of ice hockey on a local pond growing up everyone had skates back then.. think I still have my hockey skates in the shed.

I just got back from Marine Park.  No boats, no nothing,  I was very surprised to see nobody walking or skating.

Been ice fishing the last two weekends, our shanty and buddy heaters really take the edge off the cold. 

I was surprised to see how many people came out in these temps...
