"Our side" said... WE HAVE THE VOTES NOW... 

"Our Side" gambled, that they would maintain the votes to control confirmation after the election. 

"Your side" hasn't had the power to confirm a SCOTUS justice since 2012... 

Politicans do not lose their influence in the lame duck... this is just a liberals dream that these people would just not do their jobs for an entire year over this notion of "let the voters decide".. elections have consequences... those consequences are for the full term an individual is in office..
