Why are you people supporting this? The money given out and what the event costs the jurisdiction is coming from your taxes. Is a few hundred bucks worth the anti-gun publicity that will come from this?

Somebody please call the number and ask: 1) Will they be paying for bb guns or pellet guns? 2) Is there some sort of legal protection for those who will be transporting illegally, outside of the exemptions, to get their guns to the buyback? 3) If someone shows up at the buyback with a gun and decides not to accept the offer made, will they be able to take their firearm away with them - no questions asked. My employer depends heavily on state funding and I was told a while ago to stop harassing Trenton.

So effective beginning on November 1st, you will have to be 21 yrs old to buy tobacco related products in NJ. Another useless law passed by the state legislature. I'm not a smoker , but I think the new law is a waste. The State Senate must be bored, this is a priority? Jeez, Murphy hasn't been sworn in yet. So as far as NJ recognizing National Reciprocity for NJ gun owners with non resident CCW's......

Finally picked up my first semi-custom 1911. Here's my almost decade old Les Baer TRS: Pricey but if you like 1911's as much as I do, they're worth every penny... Thanks again to Steve (remixer) for the quick and painless transfer!

Believe me NJ will pull every weasel card out of their deck to stop, complex or otherwise gum up any movement to carry in any way, fashion or form. Their probably already working on it.

Yes they can. And obviously the Federal government can pick and choose which laws they will enforce. E.G. Marijuana, immigration laws.

Well... that is really a VERY sad commentary - from a cop's perspective - on the current state of affairs. If that is a typical reaction (and I can only assume it is), then not only are cops and their families dealing with an added level of strain, but there are also long-term implications re: the ability of police departments to attract good recruits. Some of these horrible events are bound to dissuade young people from going into police work. They'll either re-direct to other first responder jobs (EMT, firefighter, etc.) or they'll just go into different fields altogether. We all lose when the law enforcement talent pool shrinks. What a shame!

Not a big fan of NRA here. One thing they could do in NJ is help organize those alleged 1 million gun owners into a voting bloc, something I've advocated for years. Another is to invest a minimal amount of resources towards un-electing NJ legislators in vulnerable districts. I have outlined a plan to do that several times in this forum. Not much interest. The other thing they did which annoyed, it seemed, only me is not inviting Christie to their Republican shindig last year. "YEAH CHRISTIE #$)#( RINO #$@#$(" blah blah blah." WTF is NRA to decide who is in a position to help NJ gun owners? And for something Christie ran on like 20 years ago! Meanwhile Christie has been the only bright spot for us as the legislature has tried again and again to pound gun owners into irrelevance. You yahoos don't like Christie much? Wait until Murphy is governor. Finally, NRA pissed me off most recently when it did not stand up for that poor guy in Minneapolis, a licensed CC guy, who was executed by a cop for following the letter of the law. The cop was acquitted of all charges, of course, because he felt he was "in danger." Poor little snowflake. NRA has written NJ off. Their relations with us consist of 1) collecting dues 2) collecting dues 3) collecting dues 4) providing certification for training that is for the most part irrelevant to NJ residents and 5) "sanctioning" organizations like ANJRPC, to which I belong, again for reasons that have no relevance to me. It's a free country. Send them your $600 if you like. Expecting something in return is sheer madness.
