No no. Every market is crashing because of the Russians, and the Russians were emboldened by Trump. And the Ukraine is all bush’s fault. I shit you not, this is what some of the media outlets are saying. I’m sure we’ll be told it’s only bad for the rich soon, just like they told us about inflation.
  2. The pinky test isn’t going to keep you out of jail, but the njsp firearms division has mentioned it in the past. Those barrels are basically permanently attached bloop tubes with slots cut in it. It’s not going to function as a comp and you will likely get very little muzzle flash. I’m never comfortable telling people they are good to go on something that may cost them five figures in legal fees to keep them out of jail. If you asked me to argue which it is from a a technical standpoint, i can argue both ways, but I’m going to have a longer list for why it could function as a flash hider.
  3. It basically a three chamber bennie cooley brake with slightly more stout construction in some spots. The red is not abusively loud. If you want the most effective brake, the SJC titan still rules the roost. It's pretty loud an obnoxious, but it works great. The M4-72 is also a decent brake that performs similarly to the BC, but is FREAKING LOUD. The lantac dragon is not garbage, but not as good as the M4-72 and basically as loud. If you are going to suffer the noise and spend the money, go SJC titan. Absolute best bang for the buck IMO is the venom defense viper 2 chamber brake. It's as effective if not a bit more than the Bennie Cooley, and is very light weight and cheap when on sale. (currently $12.99, normally $30) I have them on my gun. I Also have a hammerhead brake which is no longer made, and is like a 2 chamber version of the SJC. Very effective, but the design is harder to machine and loses more performance more rapidly due to erosion. But the venom is effective and not horrifically blasty. IMO one of the best all arounders out there for weight, sound, effectiveness, and price. It's a fairly short list of things that will beat it in any given category, and when on sale, I haven't seen anything to beat the price. Whatever you do, since it has to be pinned, make sure the design has the muzzle accessible to solvents. Carbon build up in a high pressure chamber design will eventually negatively impact accuracy. The Venom is exceptionally good in that regard. The BC and RED are pretty decent as well. The miculeck brake is also cheap and effective, but frikin loud for the performance, and the two piece design is a PITA to permanently attach. The truth about guns muzzle break shootouts are reasonable comparisons of brakes. Not 100% spot on, but relative performance for them is about right give or take a few places in finishing. I linked #3 which has links to 1 and 2 at the top. For a point of reference, I have instlled the rianier arms mini comp from their first go round, and it is absolute trash. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/ar-15-muzzle-brake-shootout-3/
  4. Dude the coolfire and mantis blackbeard are WAY different than the ones you have to cock the gun every time. Like WAAAAY different. You can then pair them with a video system if you want. They ain't cheap, but they are about as good as you can do. Airsoft isn't bad, but the above allow you to work with what you actually shoot. My main competition guns are a custom 2011 and a p320 x-5 legion. While I can get a 2011 setup that feels similar, it isn't cheap. And I have failed to find an X-frame style airsoft gun. decking out an airsoft AR to be similar to my match ar would be more expensive than buying all the above plus a video system. It may not be worth it depending on one's needs, but it's a significantly different experience than the firing pin activated single shot laser inserts.
  5. That's a comp/break and similar were being sold during the AWB as well as being able to pass the pinky test. It should be fine.
  6. You aren't winning jack using privileges and immunities. SCOTUS basically said it means nothing as implying it means anything would mean relitigating ~50 years of case law.
  7. "Over time, Justin's obsession with the girl became worrying. She learned that her hometown friends in Naples, Florida, were selling the man photos of her and other information, including her cellphone number." Those are some shitty friends you got there. Also I will add that clicking through to original reporting, those hometown friends were from jersy city.
  8. I think the biggest thing is streaming. Except for those over 60, there has been a MASSIVE falloff in cable and OTA tv viewership. So odds are if you are under 60, you got over not having access to one or more Olympics already and didn't really miss it. Also along with streaming has come the mindset that you watch things when you want to watch them. They seem to have fixed that this go round, but lots of people have already filed them under annoying in that regard. Then you have China hosting again, which kind of feels like a repeat. Then there's the fact the winter Olympics is always less watched than the summer Olympics. Combine that with the fact that the summer games got postponed a year, I'm sure for a bunch of people it just felt like the olympics was cancelled and we don't do that thing anymore really. Then there's no good story. I'm sure tons of people watched to see if Michael Phelps would win a bajillion gold medals. Then there's the fact that sports has been politicized, and people are just about burnt out on political culture war bullshit. The Olympics just seems primed for the bullshit meter to get pegged. Then there's the fact hockey has turned into some weird kind of allstars elimination thing because anyone can play for anywhere. Also, trying to watch some of it in streaming replays, it's just SOOOOO much filler. When it's not just on in the background, and you try to watch it, and you have a fast forward and reverse button, you realize how much of the presentation is garbage and how much work you are putting in to see what you want. So... bye.
  9. This I do not get. I had a relative that had that happen. It was unlocked..I was like well I guess you are out some toll change did they brake anything? Oh no.. but they got a bunch of bills, SSN car and birth certificate.... WTF? Di you forget to take them out after applying for a mortgage or something? Nope... they jsut live there. Not only do you leave it unlocked it's also your safe deposit box for critical documents. I still do not know how they have managed to survive that long.
  10. I knew about the departmental issued guns. But where in the statute is exemption form the 15 round limit. Sounds like some folks are making shit up and ignoring the law (not you in particular, referring to the administration of the state).
  11. I mean the beauty of it is that while SCOTUS is sitting around working on their decision, NY is not leaving how they intend to weasel out of it a secret. A pretense of good faith adherence can only go so far with this as evidence, and hopefully it is taken as the insult it is and influences the form of the final decision.
  12. The shorter mags with normal followers were always reasonably good. At least in .40. 9mm with spacers less so. The problem is with the 10 rounders. The pictures I'm seeing in the latest catalog seem less awful, but they also have no price and no buy button, so I guess you ahve to call them.
  13. I haven't met the wilson, but the stacatto is just the STI by a different name. At $3k they better have upped the fit and finish and fire control group. But the main gripe with the platform for NJ is the 10 round mags. The only good ones I have met are the MBX mags at $124 a pop. I have STI 10 rounders for my .40, and I stopped competing with it because they are too sketchy and at Near $700 for a set of MBXs I just finally caved and went 9mm in a p320 x-5 legion. The wilson 10 rounders are ~$45 and based off the walther ppq magazines. So likely a lot less headaches there.
  14. might be helpful if you have a measurement on the beige case.
  15. I don't have USAA, but everyone I know who does says nice things about them and has been with them forever. I'm currently with NJM, and their homeowners rate was far better than my previous rate which was pretty good compared to people I know. (about $50 per year less than my last policy for about $80k more coverage). They also haven't bumped my wife's rates much and she seems to get rear ended at a stop light about once every three years.
  16. At least tree fiddy. South park references aside, it's not worth $800. People generally prefer to not have giant roll marks or bulk engraved stuff. But even assuming nobody cares and it's equally desirable to the non engraved version, they aren't selling for $800. What is getting bids on gunbroker are the auctions starting at ~$500 with no reserve. Most every buy it now is $749, and the bulk of completed items are buy it now's that timed out. There are a bunch of $500 auctions ending with one bid, no reserve. Auctions with a $735 opening bid, no reserve have zero bids. Go back more than a month you can find a couple closing a bit over $700 that look legit. The ones over $800 you can look at the buyers comments. They are shills or trolls, not actual transactions. So my take is retail is $735 for new. Market is about $700 for new. The used market is willing to pay between $500 and $600 + shipping and transfer. Selling to a store you might get offered $250 as typical offer is about 50% of what they know they can sell it for quickly. A NJ resident can go click buy it now at $735 and pay about $100 for shipping and transfer. But they can also just spam $550 offerings on no reserve auctions and probably get one and add the $100 to that. So I'd say $250 if you need to get it sold now. $550 with a little patience, especially if willing to ship it (heck if you will so the dance to ship it to an out of state FFL, a buy it now of $550 might go fast). $625 with a lot of patience.
  17. Heck you just have to go on vacation for a bit where you interact with locals. NJ is very expensive and the population is incredibly wound up and hostile.
  18. This current wave may be milder, but it is tearing through places due to how contagious it is. Lots of places are experiencing lots of sick leave.

When people offer to let you front run a pump and dump, sometimes you like money and say yes. Crypto.com is willing to turn cash into crypto for free. It's less clear if you can turn the crypto into cash for free it looks like it may be 2%. They also have designed their platform to incentivize you not having functional access to significant piles of crypto. So they want to give you a 2% haircut off the top, and more or less set things up to front run you if not day trade your crypto. They'll just borrow a little of your crypto and put it back later when prices are unfavorable for you. And if it gets out of hand they will be tragically "hacked" and all the crypto will go poof. Oops sorry unregulated market. (How many of those have we had so far? At least 3. One of them actually had the hackers put some of the money back once it became apparent that they would still be liable for a shit ton of money. Those are some nice hackers and that's super convenient... not sketchy at all. Literally NO way it could just be the crooks running the show running off with your money.). Web3 as it exists is... being as generous as I can... poorly defined. People like to babble on about blockchain and distributed and such. Maybe rant about the man a bit while talking about making gobs of money. But while you may be able to have an unalterable block chain, there is nothing saying you can't fuck up the block chain illegitimately, nor has anyone implemented anything that doesn't rely on key critical infrastructure. I.e. everything web3.0 so far can be hacked maliciously, stolen, or forced to shut down. As an example, lets say you wanted to put videos on a block chain, but you wanted the payload IN the block chain. Who is paying for the CPU cycles and storage to do that. How distributed could such a blockchain be? It's not there. It is questionable when or if it will ever be there. For a there to exist in a way that can make any number of attractive products, there needs to be interoperability, and at the moment that is largely missing. Crypto exchanges are pretty much the most advanced version of trying to create interoperability between mutually incompatible block chains, and they are a hot mess.

Or they have a stake in the payment processor handling the crypto and can pump the price a bit with a press release. I’m not saying people don’t want something adjacent to the metaverse. The only reason I think nfts aren’t totally idiotic is that the consumer would absolutely love a unified digital marketplace where they can resell the virtual clown vomit they bought for a game when they move on to the next game and the game makers would like to make those micro transactions more attractive while taking their cut in perpetuity. If someone does it right their perceived value on both sides of the market. But moving into the facebook brand virtual neighborhood where you can only buy and sell things in the Facebook store and lose your shirt when you want to move to apple island. Second life has had that shit forever and it’s been marginally popular at best past the initial hype with stupid prices we are seeing repeat itself. Outside of that you also probably don’t want the product that results from the Twitter mob deciding policy that governs your experience. You do not want the whole planet two clicks from your doorstep. There’s money to be made front running idiots before they wise up, but don’t mistake that for the new future.

The metaverse is a pile of shit. Even assuming it is something people want long term, they don’t want what is being made. People don’t want to move to Facebook-burg and be stuck with no amenities but the company store. Also there were gold atms which heralded the return to hard currency from fiat right? i will also point out that there’s an atm down the street that has a $9 service fee. Just because some grifter sees a chance to make a buck doesn’t mean that’s the future knocking on your door. I’ll be more excited when making it convenient doesn’t just translate to being rid of the bitcoin you have for a more recognized cash equivalent. Like tell me when we have the first big company offering refunds in crypto when you paid in crypto.
  22. It's got to survive the fact CA has state preemption AND then pass constitutional challenges. Even the 9th would have a very hard time upholding the fee, but they are 97% scumbag by volume, so.... Likely it'll just be killed by state preemption.

That list is incredibly misleading. Like paypal on the list is truly leaning into bitcoin because they are willing to provide actual money to merchants in exchange for you giving them bitcoin. They are actually swapping one form of money for another. Similar with newegg. At&t on the other hand accepts traditional money and has just integrated a payment method that says they will allow bitpay to give them cash on your behalf. They don't want your bitcoin. Microsoft is on the list, but removed bitcoin, readded, and appear to have removed it again, at least all their FAQs on how to do it no longer work for me to see the option. Starbucks doesn't want your bitcoin, which is why you can't use it in person. They will accept dollars form a third party on your behalf after the transaction completes. They will then give you credit for that at a later date. Overstock is hard to say what they are doing. Amazon doesn't want your bitcoin, but will accept dollars on your behalf from a third party. Apply this scrutiny to the rest of the list, and it gets much, much shorter.
  24. I suspect part of it is that the dollar value of leveraged investments was extremely high. We are currently looking at regulations that might make some of those leveraged investments harder to pull off and some of them illegal. We are also looking at higher interest rates, which make it, even under the current rule set, more expensive to extend the duration on that lever. They have to pay up or pay the interest. So if you have to pay up, you have to get the cash somewhere. Crypto went first because it is a market they were manipulating that is looking to be the subject of massive regulatory change if not outright bans on it in some places that have been fueling the market.
  25. https://obamawhitehouse.archives.gov/sites/default/files/docs/final_report-smart_gun_report.pdf the report as a result of obama trying to push an executive mandate for the DOJ. It's basically a summary of the osti report but includes a summary of known smart gun attempts. Of note, the osti document notes a permitted failure rate of 5 stoppages in 1000 rounds. The federal guidelines for bidding handgun contracts permits one stoppage in 2000 rounds. That is the current standard.
