  1. I've got a 3913 tsw which looks very similar to yours, although a smaller frame. Mine though has a magazine disconnect, so it has 4 of those levers near the hammer. All but the last one are easily depressed, the last one needs help with some sort of tool to help it down. A third hand would be helpful sometimes too. Glad you got it back together, now go have some fun.
  2. thank goodness, I feel safer that that's off the streets. And yes, for those that didn't get it...
  3. 586 4" came home today. It joins a 3913 tsw. I would really like a Shield to add to the collection.
  4. I used to ride a bicycle on the road. After numerous near misses and many many flat tires, I got a mountain bike. Just have to worry about bears.
  5. Glock 18 for everyday carry, and an STG 44.
  6. I like Wild West Alaska, but mostly just because of Phred. Swoon
  7. I was sad at first that it wasn't a bullet nose Studebaker, but then I saw .50 cal bullets, then I smiled. Oh, and I want.
  8. I've got a Hi Point in .45, and I have no complaints. It's lots of fun, and accuracy isn't bad at all. IIRC they have a lifetime warrantee to boot. I've also got a JR Carbine in 9mm which I thoroughly enjoy as well.
  9. I would try Dixon's Muzzle loading in Kempton, PA, which isn't far from Cabelas. Their website isn't working for me, though, but their phone number is (610) 756-6271.
  10. In reality I really liked the Shield 9mm I shot the other day. I hope to have one soon. Otherwise it would be the S&W 3913 TSW that I have.
  11. Quite honestly, I didn't know anything about it. I'm guessing that Eric Buell had something to do with it? Oh, and there have been a number of XR's around here for sale without the typical HD price tag. I guess they don't ride like a "real" Harley.
  12. Is there room to cut a slot in the screw, either with a Dremel or a hacksaw, and remove with a flat blade screwdriver?
  13. http://youtu.be/AGF5ROpjRAU RIP Leonard, boldly go.
  14. I used to want a Hardley. Then I rode one. No thanks, not for me. I'm sure that coming from Sport Bikes you're used to bikes that handle well, stop well, and and run well. I think you'll be very disappointed, especially with an 883. Also, 20,000 is not a lot of miles. My Beemer isn't even broken in yet with 50,000. I know lots of folks that do 20k or more per year. One last dig: Harley Davidson, the most efficient way to convert gasoline into noise without the pesky side effect of horsepower known to man.
  15. Finally got to the range today, it was a balmy 34 degrees today. Only ran about 100 rounds or so but functioned flawlessly.
  16. Here's my take on "Climate Change"; A lot of people, a whole lot smarter than me, can't decide if it's real or not. My own personal opinion is that we'll all be a lot better off if we stop pumping shit into the air.
  17. Nice photos as usual Howard.
  18. Glad they found their way home. I have to admit that I was beginning to fear the worst, what with the cold night time temps. But I'm glad they are safe, and mostly none the worse for wear.
  19. I strapped my cased shotgun to the back seat of my Triumph and rode to Clinton WMA without issue. Passed a few troopers even, no issues.
