  1. I believe that's an extremely dangerous "Assault Poptart"
  2. One of the "pro gun" Republicans in the legislature should propose a 3 round magazine limit! That would make Dems heads explode, they wouldn't know what to do!
  3. I think Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Morris and Somerset would make a good state. There is some pharmceutical and tech in the area, and many residents commute to good paying jobs in NYC. The liberals would never let it happen, they need the red areas to pay for their waste. I hope the proposal in California gets traction.
  4. NY is in the 2nd circuit. I believe that decision would only apply there. NJ is free to do what they want and the law would have to be taken to court in the 3rd circuit.
  5. Wishful thinking, I bet the temporary reduction we got in exchange for the gas tax will not last long! Murphy needs money to reward state workers, welfare recipients, and illegal aliens for their votes.
  6. I used to work in Philadelphia and many of my coworkers lived in Bucks County. Try searching around the Newtown and Yardley area, its not more than 30 miles from Moorestown. Langhorn is even closer. I also think your commute wouldn't be so bad as you would be going from PA to NJ, I think in that area, most commuting is heading to Philly.
  7. My mistake, read it on my phone and thought it was under the rifle section.
  8. Just noticed in S548 THAT semi auto rifles with a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 6 rounds will be banned. Looks like they are going to go after M1 Garands! I also have concerns with the bill calling for the FID info to be loaded onto your drivers license. This seems like a backdoor way to ban out of state purchases, as out of state dealers may not have access to the data on the NJ drivers licenses.
  9. I have shot when it was in the teens and twenties. I recall the grease on my Garand wasn' frozen, but it wasn't soft and the operating rod definitely was moving back and forth slower and caused an occasional jam. I also tried a Mauser that shot great in warmer weather but had light strikes on the primer and wouldn't fire reliably. I believe in extreme cold you want a little less lubrication, or something made specifically made for cold weather. I was outside for about 6 hours total on Saturday hunting deer. My 25 year old Remington 870 went bang when I pulled the trigger on a doe near the end of the day. If you are going to be outside you want layers of lightweight breathable material. Polypropylene, thinsulate, goretex and such. Layers and layers of heavy cotton will hold in heat, but can also make you sweat and will hold in moisture and make you colder.
  10. Unfinished receivers will probably be the next item that come under intense media scrutiny! They even have the menacing "Ghost Guns" label made up already. Now to just continually feed it to the Sheeple! Expect to see bans of both finished and unfinished receivers being proposed. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/the-rise-of-untraceable-ghost-guns/ar-BBHR7WE?li=BBnb7Kz
  11. This is incorrect! In most states that issue concealed carry permits you are either automatically required to notify an Officer you are armed during any encounter, or you are required to notify if asked by an Officer during an encounter. Not consenting to a search is fine, but if the Officer sees a gun when a woman opens her bag, not consenting to a search will not work at that point.
  12. It will probably be proposed sometime next year along with another bill calling for a 10 round magazine limit. The gun banners in NJ will pass the 10 round limit and say "We respect and suppot" the second amendment" and "See, we compromised by not making the limit 5 rounds" A couple mass shootings and a few years more democratic control, then they will be back with the 5 round limit.
  13. I hope this continues! We need serious enforcement of our immigration laws!
  14. Every gun owner should have a German K98 Mauser and/or a 1903 Springfield! They are classic, fire powerful cartridges, accurate and historical. Nice Shooter grades can be found in the $500-1,000 range, Sniper versions in the $3,000-4,000 price range.
  15. Usually 2-4 inches in front of the rear sight. You want to make sure you can have a clear sight picture using the backup sights while looking through the Red Dot sight.
  16. Great film! I still think a lot of American soldiers nearly $h!t themselves the first time they found themselves on the wrong end of an MG42!
  17. All the squirrels are by my deer stand! (Hunting club in blairstown). I have both red and gray. At least once every deer season, one will climb a neighboring tree, stare at me and bark! I try to clean them out some once deer season ends, but they seem to disappear when you have a shotgun loaded with bird shot!
  18. Some great advice there from Griz!
  19. Bob, I think the NJ Attorney General has an Office of Civil Rights. That would probably be the office that should investigate and fight the town on your behalf. However, since the State of NJ doesn't believe in civil rights when it comes to firearms ownership, you would probably be out of luck!
  20. Probably had heartburn from eating fish out of Newark Bay!
  21. Bob, Sounds like you had a good day! That Dan Wesson with all those barrels was a deal at $1025, and also the series 70 at $550! I too love auctions. I will bid, and win if something I want goes for a good deal, but usually you get idiots bidding up guns to ridiculous prices, and then have a 10-20% buyers premium on top of their bid! It's pretty laughable sometimes! I was even at an auction one time where a rusted to shit Smith and Wesson 29 44mag (nothing special) went for like $950-975. I think everyone thought maybe $3-400 at most! The auctioneer was even making jokes while the bidding was still going on! Enjoy your 1894, they are a fun gun!
  22. Last time I ordered ammo from them was about 1.5 years ago. No Problem. Oh, and yes it was shipped in an unmarked (aside from CMP on the address label) brown box.
  23. Center mass or a 6 o'clock hold are only preferences. The Garand can be sighted in either way. You definitely have to get it sighted at a shorter than 200 yard distance and work your way out as well.
  24. Dash Cams only see in front of the car. I believe the subject (Woman that was shot)in this case was on the side of the car.
