  1. This, and your Plan A/B/C should also encompass firearms, magazines, and even spare parts where appropriate. Depends how strategically you want to plan. E.g. In 1974 new spare magazines for my then new Mossberg 144 rifle were $2.50, now all I see are beat up used ones on Ebay for $50.00. Lesson learned...
  2. +++ Already anticipated here since three years ago when 22lr was scarce. My own Plan A has been completed. At least for now......
  3. Peel, thanks for locating my post. OP: I have since also purchased the P3Racker and recommend it. When using it you can keep the muzzle pointed down range. That is not necessarily the case with the HandiRacker. Btw my hand arthritis issue is in the area where my thumb joins the hand. It is almost impossible for me to load my Glock 9mm mags by hand using my thumbs. For that I use an UpLula mag loader which works great. In addition to 9mm Glocks, I recently also purchased a Ruger GP 100 38/357(5” barrel from Davidsons). It’s weight, coupled with shooting 38 spec in single action mode, has been more comfortable for me than my Glocks. Less felt recoil and I can also pull the hammer back with my thumb without an issue.

  5. I am not offhand aware of new formal legislation in this regard(yet). However, listen to today’s Gun4Hire podcast where Evan Nappen discusses this very topic.
  6. Very disappointed. I was so proud of the fact I had the opportunity to obtain my Texas CCW last year. Concealed carried in Pa one time. Was a wonderful first time experience. My Tx and Nh non-resident permits are definitely now a no-go. I feel like more than ever our 2A rights are under siege in so many ways.
  7. Yes HE, it was me who attended the class with you last year. Looking forward to taking another, perhaps the Oct CCW class. At least it will be cooler than the very hot day we had for our class.
  8. Update: The mother was moved to a nursing home. Few assets. Home was eventually sold to cover the nursing home and other expenses. Before house was sold the sister retrieved the old trunk containing father’s personal stuff from WWII. The firearm in question is actually a German Walther PP in “9m/m”. My friend was told by an ffl that it takes 9mm shorts (perhaps same as 32acp???). My friend is applying for his Fid and P2P. Once he receives them he and the sister in law plan to meet at the ffl and do the transfer.
  9. Your mention of Gene’s Gun Room certainly brings back memories. I purchased my first two firearms there in 1974. Still have them and the receipts. (Don’t recall why I chose Gene’s instead of Caso’s since I lived in Jersey City 10 minutes from Caso. Perhaps I saw an advertisement somewhere.)
  10. I just opened the Fox News app on my iPad and this story is among those linked at the top just under the story of the Student Walkout in favor of 2A. The link takes you to a Fox & Friends segment that aired this morning. They also mention they are trying to get Mr Robinson on tomorrow’s show.
  11. Watched the video. Wow. Bravo Mr Robinson. I liked the first guy as well.
  12. Thanks for the feedback so far. I do need to find out more of the context and how they are handling the overall estate (cash assets, house, etc.). They may need to get a lawyer involved to settle the estate. In which case they can discuss this with the attorny. The firearm is then just one of the many assets and probably can be handled like the tupperware example above. I do not think the other sister wants it, so will likely go to my friend's wife.
  13. Am making this inquiry on behalf of a friend of mine and his wife. Neither is currently a firearm owner. His wife and her sister inherited their father's possessions upon his recent death. (Their mother was already deceased.) Upon going thru an old trunk in the house, then came upon their father's goverment issued handgun from WW2 along with it's holster and a box of ammo from 1944. It is apparently in very good shape according to my friend and they want to keep it in the family. Here is my question. The father did not have a will. So which of his daughters legally owns the handgun? Is it just a matter of the daughters deciding amongst themselves who will be the sole owner going forward? Any insights would be appreciated.
  14. Glenn, welcome to the forums and 2A community. I am also in Middletown. Msg me if you would like to meet for a cup of coffee sometime and talk firearms/2A. regards, Art
  15. Mrs Peel, congrats on your “promotion”. Glad to have you as a Mod here. I always value those who express themselves with well thought out postings. You are certainly among the best of those. Reminds me of a thread last year in which you, AVG, and Newtonian were all contributing. That was like the Trifecta of forum threads for me, lol. Speaking of which: earth to Newtonian, please come back, we miss you!
  16. Wow, another F1 fan on NJGUNFORUMS. That makes at least two of us! I cannot wait either. I finally just subscribed to F1 Racing magazine. Super articles. Got a great discount thru Zinio. (Pardon the brief hijack.)
  17. My flight has been confirmed and early Monday morning I will be on a plane to Atlanta. I wish each and every one of you best of luck on Monday and a very successful and impactful rally. As I committed above; over the course of the past week I have in fact made donations to NRA-ILA, SAF, ANJRPC, CNJFO, and NJ2AS. (They were not trivial.) I encourage others who are unable to attend the rally to do the same. Regards
  18. I find Citibank’s action deeply troubling. I plan to take stock of all our Citi affiliated credit cards and likely cancel most if not all of them. Between the wife and I there are at least four that come to mind, including Costco.
  19. Now that is funny! Just further demonstrates the ignorance that is at work here.
  20. Check out the new Ruger Precision Rimfire, albeat bolt action.
  21. OP. I strongly recommend you consider using Gunsitters for peace of mind. I won’t elaborate here on the many reasons why that is a good idea. There are other past threads here on the topic. I used them when I went on vacation last year. Plus the cost is minimal in the larger context of selling and buying a home.
  22. I had every intention of attending any and all of these rallys. However, I will be traveling to Atlanta on business for the final week of my project there. In lieue of attending the rally I will be making an additional round of contributions to all of the 2A organizations I am a member of(see my signature). If my travel plans change, then I will be there. In any event, hoping the weather is good that day for everyone.
  23. The lawsuit suggestion aside, I do agree that the state run Nics process could easily become a means for the Murphy run state to further delay and frustrate those seeking to exercise their right of firearms ownership. The memory of my 7 day NICS wait in 2013/2014 for my shotgun purchase comes to mind. I do not believe any FFL would take the chance of releasing a firearm before receiving an explicit NICS approval. Lastly as others have said, the state will never give up their control over this process. I assume it is also the means by which they track and enforce OGAM.
