StriderTB 10 Posted September 11, 2009 This looks like an interesting alternative to the usual AR's, and at $1299 retail, it comes in a bit lower than the SIG556. http://www.benelliusa.com/rifles/benell ... _rifle.php Thoughts?

StriderTB 10 Posted September 11, 2009 Yeah, it's nice to see a rifle that's NJ compliant out of the box!
crazyboy 13 Posted September 12, 2009 And I was going to get myself an AR for Christmas. We'll have to take a look at this puppy.
tinyboy 1 Posted September 12, 2009 wow this really is a Storm
bbk 188 Posted September 12, 2009 I like it a lot. I am curious what a field strip would be like. And if anything, the stock looks like it has an odd angle. Otherwise, that's a competitive price, and looks like it would be a nice alternative.
Wolfy 51 Posted September 12, 2009 tiny first thing that came to mind was it looks like a Storm. Must have used the same designer.

AntZ 1 Posted September 12, 2009 It says it is good for HD. Would a .45 storm a better one for HD if the two are similar?
Wolfy 51 Posted September 12, 2009 45 Storm is good. I have the 9MM Storm and one day will add the 92FS to my collection.
Caine 147 Posted September 12, 2009 I like the way it looks, but, I hate crossbolt safeties.. bleh. Still, it's good to see more companies jumping into the 5.56 game. More choices is always a good thing... and Benelli isn't known for making bad guns. I wonder if it'll accept PMAGs tho...
tinyboy 1 Posted September 12, 2009 I dunno about using a carbine for HD, thats why Im taking Chris's course in November....
Caine 147 Posted September 12, 2009 Yeah - but carbines are good for when the zombies come...
Wolfy 51 Posted September 12, 2009 It does take standard AR mags.
tinyboy 1 Posted September 12, 2009 I wonder if its available anywhere?
Greydaddy 2 Posted September 12, 2009 Saw a guguy buying a Sig in Effinger's yesterday----$1899.00!
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted September 12, 2009 Beretta was originally marketing this as the Rx4. Like the px4(pistol) and Cx4(carbine), this was the rifle version of the series. I think there was supposed to be a Sx4(shotgun) but I could be wrong. There were issues with importing it and they cancelled the project. It looks like Cx4 components would fit this firearm. I wonder if it's reversable for lefty's like my Cx4?

AntZ 1 Posted September 12, 2009 I dunno about using a carbine for HD, thats why Im taking Chris's course in November.... Read an artical in the current Home defense(?) magazine which talks about why an AR carbine is better than an shotgun for HD.

Well I plan on using it as my "other floor" HD of choice, just havent figured out yet if it should be my bedroom gun or in my home office
XDJohnTact 49 Posted September 13, 2009 I also thought it looked a lot like my Storm, which I like a lot.
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted September 13, 2009 The stock w/pistol grip is straight off their tactical shotguns too. I bet it's the exact same part #.
Tactical Monkey 51 Posted September 13, 2009 It looks pretty fugly if you ask me. Stock of a shotgun, barrel of a Storm, and an AR mag receiver to fill the void.... The more I look at it it seems Benelli took the design of a semi-auto shotty receiver and shrunk it, then tacked on the barrel and mag well for a 5.56 Not my cup of tea I guess
