100 Items to Disappear First

Recommended Posts

Most of my information I will be posting is from other resources, but with some modifications as I see fit. If it is my work entirely, I will post up that it is. If you don't see me say that, assume it is a collarboration of a lot of different like-minded people.

Legend:

- Necessities: Items that are crucial to surviving.

- High value items: Items that are of great value; should be protected, horded, and used as leverage in barter trade.

- Nice to have: Good to have to make life easier, but not needed.

- Luxuries: Not needed at all; but they are extremely useful, hard to transport, and can make life incredibly more comfortable.

I think coffee, alcohol, and cigs/tobacco would be in the top 5 as people scramble for those items.

If we're talking about '100 Most Desired Items,' I think a few are too low, and others too high. Grains, cooking oil, male/female hygiene products, baby care products, matches, duct tape, and non-hybrid seeds seem too low. Milk, notably, seems too high. There also seems to be a saturation of fire-starting products in the top 10, haha. I also think "rope and twine" should be categorized separately, and be higher.

I've seen this list before and there are 2 problems I see with it

1 - the list (to me at least) is more geared towards the top 100 things a "prepper" would grab first.

2 - the order of the items is very debatable

It's a good list to for pre-incident planning tho.

This list isn't in any particular order. Medicines would be on here, as advil and Excedrin would vanish, but some of the others have short expiration date and only matter to those that need them. (stock piling some would be futile.)

Personally most of this is stuff I could care less about, If you want me to revamp the list Im open to ideas. Also, I could organzine it in different categories (food, meds, tools, ect) if you want. Either way this is the stuff that goes first in most all occasions, and again, not in any real order. Remember, this isn't a list of importance, its a list of what goes first. How important is Tea? Its not.

In some cases it can be. Im not well versed in those uses yet though. I should probably explain some of the items. Coffee is one of those items I would have simply for barter trade, and most people are addicted to it. That said if you have any, its valuable and can serve to get you hard to find or other valuable (to you) items through barter trade.

#1 should be guns and ammo...cause if you need anything else, you have guns and ammo to get them with....

:icon_mrgreen: just sayin' what others think :icon_e_confused:

I understand what you're saying. Stock up. But by no means try to go get it if we ever have a SHTF/Zombie problem. EVERYONE else will be going after the same thing. Besides, I was under the belief that everyone else already was stocking up on both :p

you're overlooking the obvious.

NJ has a very very very low percentage of gun ownership, so, since we're part of the few an far between, we just need guns and ammo, and the supplies that the guy down the street has, soon become ours.....lol....

Nice! But you gotta remember criminals are better armed than us. Well, the big timers are anyway. I'm not afraid of the crack head with a Bersa 380 or with a Larcin 25 auto.
