kenw 293 Posted March 3, 2011 I'm thinking about one of these for the back of the truck. Does anyone know if they're illegal in NJ? They say that the decal doesn't impair the view through the window, but I have no first hand experience with that.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted March 3, 2011 Should be legal. I see stuff like that on Cars/Trucks/Vans all the time.
vladtepes 1,060 Posted March 3, 2011 last I checked which was quite some time ago.. the rear windows could be tinted out without any restrictions.. I know this isn't tint.. but if this does not impair your view I would say that there should be no issue.. but maybe someone else knows for sure.. PK90 3,573 Posted March 3, 2011 Got two side mirrors? Legal even if you can't see through them, but you'll have to take your inside rearview mirror off.
StephanieSeven 70 Posted March 3, 2011 ken. should be legal. i've seen these up close. they don't really cause a problem. there's a ton of small holes so you can see through it.

PK90 3,573 Posted March 3, 2011 ... there's a ton of small holes so you can see through it. I didn't know a hole has weight?
kenw 293 Posted March 3, 2011 I didn't know a hole has weight? It's everything around the hole that's weighty.
StephanieSeven 70 Posted March 3, 2011 I didn't know a hole has weight? There's always a measurement of value to a hole.

Stickle 2 Posted March 3, 2011 It looks too fun and “Could” contain images that maybe frightening to the normal "anti-window tint person"….. It must be illegal in NJ.
Wolfy 51 Posted March 3, 2011 I didn't know a hole has weight? The heavy matter around a whole is called a woman.

djg0770 481 Posted March 3, 2011 but you'll have to take your inside rearview mirror off. Damn - learn something new everyday! I have driven many box trucks that had these (useless) rearview mirrors still attached.
Wolfy 51 Posted March 3, 2011 I guess I was just too subtle when I said it. Ken I have never been accused of being subtle.

Malsua 1,422 Posted March 3, 2011 Was told this at the MVS Inspection Station. Well, inspections now are for emissions only so your information would appear to be dated.

DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted March 3, 2011 It's legal to have your rear window COMPLETELY obstructed as long as you have two side mirrors. Had a friend who drove his Jeep Cherokee with fitted piece of plywood, painted black, completely covering his entire rear window.
tommy3rd 132 Posted March 4, 2011 It looks too fun and “Could” contain images that maybe frightening to the normal "anti-window tint person"….. It must be illegal in NJ. As long as you have a permit and it's under 15 holes you're fine. Also, make sure it's not on the banned decorations list.

And the more money he gest from decals the more guns he buys that I get to shoot or borrow If anybody has something in mind, let me know. He made a bunch of Lage MAX-11 decals for people over on Uzitalk.
Jon 264 Posted March 7, 2011 As already posted, you can paint the rear window black with 0% visibility and be fully legal.
