Ruski 0 Posted March 9, 2011 I'm pretty new weapons in general. I am interested in air rifles, but probably thanks to state laws, this is the closest nj forum for it. Are there any air rifle fans here? I also have questions about some of the laws and regulations in this state, and maybe PA, pertaining to weapons. And what is a premier member on this sight? Never shot an actual firearm though.
Krdshrk 3,878 Posted March 9, 2011 Welcome! Air rifles as in BB guns, or Airsoft guns?

Maksim 1,504 Posted March 9, 2011 If you are talking about air rifles, as in BB guns, they are considered as regular firearms in NJ. Airsoft guns are not.

Ruski 0 Posted March 9, 2011 BB guns, they are considered as regular firearms in NJ. Yea, mine is a .177 pellet gun. I was afraid of that. In PA, I didn't even get carded buying one. :/ What kind of consequences are there if one is found in my possession? I might have to just leave it in PA and shoot there. I don't know if it's worth applying for a firearm license if I just want to play with a toy. I knew this state sacked but i didn't know it was this bad! Tactical Monkey 51 Posted March 10, 2011 Greetings I would leave it in PA till you acquire a NJ Firearms Purchaser ID Card

fliks 20 Posted March 10, 2011 if the pellet gun was purchased legally in another state while the owner resided there, no FID is needed. but it's a good idea to get if you're gonna live in NJ and buy more guns - which you will if you frequent this forum. (damn enablers!) oh, yah and: привет, добро пожаловаь! тут наших полно ....
Sigman 41 Posted March 10, 2011 Greetings - you may want to apply for your FID anyway. Rimfire .22 are fun to shoot if you're not interested in higher caliber guns.
Ruski 0 Posted March 10, 2011 привет, добро пожаловаь! тут наших полно .... spasibo. Nawix vezde hvataet I'm going to think about it. This country isn't as bad as brit yet but, well... Does anyone know about compound bow regulations? They too are fun, and more lethal, i think.

Jon 264 Posted March 11, 2011 Welcome! As already mentioned, it is legal to own any firearm(air rifles included) provided it was purchased legally while you were the resident of another state. I, too, plan on getting involved in compound bows this year, at my home range in Bridgewater. Where are you located? Our range has arguably the best archery range in the state, and several seasoned archery veterens. This link should answer all your questions about becoming a Premier member: http://njgunforums.com/forum/index.php?app=subscriptions Enjoy your stay!
