Finally done after 3 long months!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Just wanted to share. (I know everyone LOVES "Look at my Build!" threads! :onthequiet:)

After 3 months of ordering and waiting and waiting some more, and ordering some more... the final piece of my puzzle arrived this morning and now she's all put together and waiting for me to take her to the range. (I'm going tonight so I'll find out if she shoots as good as she looks.)

Parts List:

- Accessory Arms 16" Mid-length upper. 1:7, 5.56, FSC556 pinned/welded, no delta pack, no BCG

- Spikes ST-15 Lower

- DSA LPK

- Geissele SSA

- Magpul UBR (pinned)

- Centurion C4 12" hand guards

- Fail Zero BCG

The ACOG was a last minute surprise. Wasn't on the original build list... it was on the fantasy list. (I bought a cheap Primary Arms red dot initially, which I have and will probably end up selling.) Turns out that my accountant rocks and there was a little more wriggle room in the build budget. Since I already bought everything else... this was the only thing left.

That's my guest bedroom. One's the door to the hallway (left), one's the room's closet (right). My bedroom, on the other side of the house, is the exact mirror opposite. And all the doors on my second floor (except the bathroom) look exactly the same. They're the original doors. From like 1920 - 1930 or so. Crazy old houses.

Very nice build, grats! The only suggestion I would make would be to use some of that wiggle room and get a decent camera for some high Q pics! ;)

I have one of those. I was just too excited to get it out. (Okay... okay... I was just supremely lazy. ;)) I will most certainly get better pics up soon. (Tomorrow most likely... today's the niece's bday party. Unfortunately she's only 2, so can't take her to the range with me yet.)

      Hello Gents,

I'm selling my (like new) AR mid length complete upper receiver chambered in 300BLKOUT 7.62 × 35mm manufactured by Special Ops Tactical.  Only put approximately 100 rounds through it. For those of you who don't know, this basically will fit on most AR lowers and uses the same AR magazines but gives you a .30 caliber (7.62 x 35) by just swapping the upper receiver if you are looking for a heavier load and more knock down power for hunting etc. (obviously state laws apply). I'm only selling it because I ended up buying a complete .30 caliber rifle.

      Here are some specs:

300 BLK Out Nitride - 14.5″ Pinned to 16" Overall Midlength Upper
GPX 12.6" MLOK Free Floating Rail System with continuous 1913 Picatinny rail on top
Muzzle Brake Original "Black Magic" 30 Cal (pinned & welded NJ legal).
      {Nitride} M4 Extended Feed Ramps
      Nitride M4 Barrel Extension
      1:7 Twist Rate
      5/8×24 Thread Pitch
      Raptor Charging Handle

      Price: $695

Pm or email me with any questions: [email protected]
      I am in Deptford NJ.
THE FIRST TO POST "I'LL TAKE IT" WINS THE SALE.
A "PM sent" DOES NOT ESTABLISH THE SALE. If you want the item, post "I'll take it" and should the deal fall apart the seller can post "still available." Should you reach a negotiated price via PM then post "I'll take it per our PM(s)"  on this thread.

If anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated!

    • Handloading is the only real way you can control the quality of all components used! Still no guarantee but I use only CCI primers and I am certain that the proper amount of a good quality powder is there. Not much else you can do!
    • There is a lot of crappy factory ammo out there.  A name like Remington and you cant even trust them with your life.  A few different instructors told me that they have been seeing some real shit ammo too.  For me...I'll continue to make my own.  I know it works.  ALL of them.
    • I think this ammo was bought during the pandemic where it seems like quality control went out the window.  I should have taken a picture of the primers today after shooting. Some had some pretty deep indents.  I shoot da/sa. The thing that was a bit alarming was sometimes it didn't go off on the second attempt of dropping the hammer and sometimes it did.
    • It’s possible it’s the ammo.  Try a box of something from Federal-Federal primers are known to be the ‘softest’.  If you get misfires still, the gun is again the prime suspect   of course you’ll ultimately want it to run with any ammo, but I’ve known revolvers that can’t seem to get to 100% ignition double action with any other primer
