What else can I do to find a pistol only sold exclusive to cabelas?

Recommended Posts

Yes I have tried the firearms price request... Only Bullseye answered, props to them.

Sku# 150987 smith and Wesson, it's exclusive to cabelas, but I figured why can't any stores get it for me from them and I will pay the fees???

Also, I did go to cabelas myself and a friend, but the cabelas salesman told us that they can't even sell that to NJ people because it has a 15 round clip, it has to be 10 rounds or less. So we said where does it say that in the law book? But then other salesman (3 or 4 others) jumped in and said yeah we can't sell that to people from NJ. So they win. I know for a fact gun shops here in NJ has the same pistol with 15 rd clip and selling it, but it's not the same two tone color I want.

Anybody have a good solution for me? Please??? Help me find it

if a friend that lives out of state happened to buy that gun.. and then happened to decide that they do not like the gun..and the gun was NJ legal.. and then happened to sell it to you and ship it to an FFL.. and you happened to have the correct paper work... I do not see a problem... but those things would all have to just randomly happen..

IMO, the color is not worth the extra $200 (over the all black one) that you'll pay to get it.

BTW, you limited yourself to North and Central Jersey, hence no reply from me.

Is this what you want?

http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product4_750001_750051_782002_-1_757781_757781_757781_ProductDisplayErrorView_Y

If Cabela's is too dumb to get their act together to sell it to you, they do not deserve your money. And while I know that aesthetics are important - always nice to have a cool looking gun - Paul is right that simply a color is hardly worth the $200.

If your heart is set on it, I'd call Cabela's and ask to speak to the manager of the gun department. Explain what happened. Politely point out how their marvelous sales help were wrong (mag capacity) and ask him if he'll sell it to you. If he says he can't - his loss for being as dumb as the help. If he can, you better have the name and address of an FFL ready, and they better be pre-warned that may have to send their license to Cabela's. Get a specific name to mark the license to their attention.

I'm thinking they don't deserve the money your willing to spend - but I know how it is once you get a bug up yopur a$$.

Goos luck.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

Won't Cabalas sell it to you but send it to a NJ FFL for you??

Oh and I'll hit this before someone else does, it's a Magazine (aka Mag) not a Clip.. ;)

Sorry Sir for the ignorant clip comment, I will try not to use that 4 letter word again

I definetly wouldn't mind the drive as long I support NJ stores instead of cabelas. Also it's really only $21 more than the all black one with the Carry and range kit. So, if you guys can get it, I WILL BE EXTREMLY happy to drive down anytime.

The last all black S&W M&P9 kit #209331 I sold was at $500 plus NICS & Tax which was $551.05 out the door.

According to their website, the 'pretty' one from Cabelas is $599.99 plus shipping. Estimating that at around $30, it'll cost me $629.99 to get it. With a profit of only $56.93 for me, with NICS & Tax to you, your cost out the door would be $751.05.

Still want to get it?

ETA: I just checked, The M&P40 all black kit is now $510 plus NICS & Tax and available.

First call Paul, PK90, and see what his price is to you. He already told you why he didn't respond to your price request.

Sound like a certain person may be willing to buy it, dislike it, then send it to the FFL of your choice, that would be option #2.

Thanks Pizza bob, I really want the range kit and I don't want to bother with cabelas really. 2 hours and some change of a drive to hear several (dumb) misinformed salesman.

My heart is really set for the 2 tone range kit, I AM WILLING TO DRIVE ANYWHERE IN NEW JERSEY to any STORE if they can get this for me. As long as the price is reasonable enough. It's really $21 more on the S&W site and at cabelas it was $549 for the range kit.

The range kit is not worth it in my opinion. Save your money and buy a good holster and good mag pouches that you can pick and decide on, not that you're stuck with.

I dunno why this is so difficult. If you want the pistol that bad, go to Cabela's, speak with a manager, tell them you want it sent to your FFL and be done with it.

Or, support our NJ businesses and see if Paul or anyone else can get it for you.

Also, you have the option of sending out the black model and getting the slide..whatever it's called..basically coated with a silver coating that prevents rust and corrosion and is very smooth. Might even cost you less.

I really want the package though and I'm done with cabelas, also the polymer body is the one that's a different color not the slide. I'm gonna shop around maybe I will just get the all black one. Also I will be stopping by firearms guild in Rahway this weekend because Smith and Wesson representatives are gonna be there this weekend, maybe they can help me out. Tomorrow I will be stopping by bullseye too, then maybe bullethole.

Anyone knows of a reliable gun smith or armorer that can swap a barrel on a S&W 686+ revolver? If you used them even better. Any idea on the cost to do the work? Obviously someone local in NJ as the first choice. Thanks for any leads.

I am interested in getting the opinion of people you have shot the Smith and Wesson Model 629 revolver in different barrel lengths. I have shot the 6" barrel and it was doable. S&W has it available now in 2 5/8", 4", 5", 6", and 6 1/2" barrels. The longer barrels are heavier guns so that probably makes them easier to shoot.. Are the shorter barrels difficult to shoot (feel, recoil, etc)? I am interested in hearing about shooting .44 Magnum cartridge.(I know that the .44 special cartridge is a different animal and easier to shoot).

    • What's the crime for riding a dirt bike on the street? Most likely a fine, misdemeanor at most. That justifies causing severe bodily injury through use of lethal force by auto?  There is no way to predict that he would have hit anyone, it's more like a 99.9% he wouldn't have hit anyone.  And that was a 2 lane road, not a pedestrian walkway. Hopefully he hires a good lawyer and everyone is held accountable for their actions.
    • Seriously? “Sounds Fishy”? You can’t think of a reason why the cop thought that was going to happen after watching the video? The cops are there after multiple reports/complaints of vehicles in the pedestrian walkway and reports of near misses. The ATV is on a pedestrian walkway where there are not supposed to be any vehicles and is moving at very fast pace. If he couldn’t stop for the police car, what makes you think he could stop in time for a pedestrian. He dynamited the breaks to avoid hitting the car and lost complete control of the ATV. Luckily the mass of the car prevented it from continuing to tumble down the walkway and take out pedestrians like bowling pins. If he had hit the brakes like that to avoid hitting a pedestrian instead of the car, would the ATV not have flipped? What would the now out of control ATV have done to any people in the walkway? Would the first person be hit have enough mass to stop the ATV in its proverbial tracks? I have seen plenty of pedestrians stuck. It is never like the movies. They don’t parkour out of the way of a speeding car - especially when pushing a baby carriage and the vehicle is approaching from the rear in a place where you think you are safe because vehicles are not permitted.
