Thanks to Maks, Nick, and Frank(?) for RO'ing our squad today! Thanks to the guys manning the palm pilots today also, John and .... don't remember his name.

It was fun, it was tough, it was hot and nasty-humid, but we got it done! I just may have to do it again, and yes, with a revolver. Someone needs to bring-up the rear! :)

That was fun. Loooong but I had a good time. I wouldn't do any of this stuff if I didn't get shoot with such a great crew.

Oh and tell your wife, she absolutely

saved me from passing out. There's nothing like RO'ing with a slice of pizza in your hand. Totally unprofessional but had to be done.

Mike, I think you're thinking of Dan running the palm also.

Good times for sure.

I'm worse with names than I am with shooting! ;)

Glad to help you out Nick, and my jelly-belly buddy who is now sleeping like a baby. :)

I wish they would post the individual squads so I could try to learn some names, I sometimes remember people by what they were shooting.

The guy with the green shirt ran the palm pilot most of the day, bet he just loved that. ;)

Yup that was me with the green shirt running with the Palm. Jon, Frank, and Maks when he wasn't RO'ing also were on it. Thanks out to everyone who taped, tore down, RO'd (the energizer bunny RO's Nick + Maks.. they kept going and going), and other stuff that was necessary to keep our large squad moving!

I'm terrible with names also, and running the palm or scoring actually helped me out quite a bit by drilling names into my head. IMO we need NJGF name tags or personalized shirts with our names at these matches to help us name-remembering challenged folks.

Long day along with humidity, but was well worth it. I'm off to BJ's today to look for those carts that everyone else seems to have. Next match I'll be equipped with a cooler fo sho.

Thanks for stepping up and helping with the scoring. It helped alot!

Got mine at Costco for 65. But it's a bit over kill unless you plan on lugging around everyone else's bags. Cough...Alec....cough.

But 2 cheap 2 buy! :)

I usually tote Alecs stuff around, this time you got it Nick.

I talked to Dave during the match, unsure of last name, but he is one of the guys that ran the event. He, and Jim Normam, had those cool-azz OBCATS shirts on. I asked if I could get one but instead of putting my name on it I would run I SUCK on it. ;)

Alec, I need one of those carts you pictured above for Sporting Clays, my shotguns don't fit in the cart I use for our outdoor matches.

Hey, what's the verdict, are we all getting Procedureals for that first stage we shot? Depending on how the description was read it was unclear as to the start. I would rather have had my gun on the barrel honestly, sitting in the chair with the big-a** holster I have was not easy!

so on the stage shooting under the bar i got 190 pentitly points is that some kind of record :)

It very well might be. No all divisions combined scores, so I don't feel like looking through all of them. I shot like dookie.

I really don't know how the scoring works. I am pretty sure I did one shot above the bar, brain-fart. I know I had at least one miss when the bullet failed to leave the gun due to a bad primer. Didn't bother to reload since I had no clue what just happened and thought I may have a squib.

All in all I got very few penalties so I'm ok with that. Didn't DQ, another plus!

Your RO was suffering from heat stroke. He must have missed it.

I was so damn hot and tired by that point I am suprised I was hitting the targets kneeling down under that piece of wood single-handed!

Maybe I did take that first shot under the bar, who knows...............

    • We never let then inside.  Last re-evaluation was 6-7 years ago, wife politely told him that he was welcome to look around the property and he could look in the windows. He saw two white resin chairs in the basement and told her that this constituted a finished basement. And everything in the basement is bare concrete/ cinder block, and mechanical systems. Nothing finished about it. Ultimately he relented and I'm sure that was a ploy to coerce us to allow him in
    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
