From NY Post..NRA Pres and Sen MCCain on Sun morn talk shows both seem pretty confident AWB will not happen. They dont think Obama will blow his political capital load on guns..I'm not in the prediction game but just posting this for some feel good words on this Sunday..

As a gun owning liberal, I am praying to Darwin that the Democrats do not attempt a AWB, or if they do, that it is defeated.

There has been much progress in the last ten years, and it would be very, very sad to see it all undone over something so stupid.

I don't understand why Democrats would want an AWB - to please people in states they already have solid votes in, which already have bans at a state level. At the cost of completely blowing their gains in nearly a dozen states that vote blue but love guns.

It's Politics 101 and such a stupid, stupid move.

I really don't want to be talking about Gay Marriage and Flag Burning for the next ten years while unemployment sits over 20% because Democrats needed to pass a gun ban.

Agreed. It is not a service to anyone when someone is 70+, 80+ years old, has been in power for decades, and openly laughs about not knowing how to use e-mail. Like McCain did. I also remember a supreme court justice needed to be explained to how e-mail works in the last 2-3 years. How can you be in such a powerful position and completely ignorant of something so common? Shit, e-mail is old now too!

McCain needs to be booted from the Senate.

I have a lot of respect for the guy, even in some personal matters, but he is a blight on this Nation and needs to go. The sooner the better.

Agreed... time to go.

McCain is pathetic. He is a RINO and both he and the Republican establishment picked him to gracefully bail out and LOSE the election for the Manchurian Czar. I thank him for his service and think he should go take a permanent lunch. He is ALWAYS on the wrong side of any important issues. He would have done worse against Obama had he not foolishly chosen the charming Sara Palin.

He is horrible for this country because of the predicament he helped put us in...

Was that question directed to me?  I couldn't tell.

Yes, sorry. His reputation took a hit in my eyes when he selected you-know-who as his running mate last election, but other than that, I'm curious to know what others think of him. (I'm surrounded by Democrats in my life.)

Drinking that koolaid... He didn't have any chance in 'ell without Palin. She was actually picked as a 3rd world governor for her looks and because the Government didn't think she would help the ticket and had it in the tank to put in someone of the likes of Obama. Both the Statist/Leftist/Progressive/Socialist Democrats and the Statist/Leftist/Progressive/Socialist Democrat-Wanna-be-Republicans attacked her non-stop when they realized she would not be a hindrance to McCain and that she actually had more star-quality, charisma, and common-sense than McCain and could actually win it for him. It wasn't that McCain wasn't up for the fight with Obama, he was slotted to lose. As a war hero and because he his a "maverick" and liked by both sides, that Grandpa could have inspired and won, but he played the cards dealt to him successfully and lost. Both parties failed to vet Obama and both parties chose McCain and Romney, for that matter, to run against the one-world-order-is enough for all of us... Obama. If you come to any other conclusion given the facts and the history, then you are either not paying attention, or I don't know. This is a setup by our government. Forget about Democrats and Republicans... Think of Statists through and Through. No RINO Republican can ever be trusted to do the right thing, and when the going gets tough, the RINO pretends to put up a fight but goes along with the Statist Jack Asmass.

I'll Keep McCain. You never know in this day and age who would replace him.

Yes, it is better to cringe every time he needs to do the right thing and say a prayer that that jack ma hole will do it than to get someone in there, a Constitutional Conservative in there that believes in limited government, individual freedom.... always better to role the dice with that maverick in the tank for the big O.

McCain didnt want Palin...and he forbade his Campaign people to help her..he WANTED Lieberman, and figured that since Joe was now an "Independant", the party would allow it..by the time it was made Clear that under NO Circumstances would the RNC allow Lieberman on the ticket, it was weeks into the Campaign and the damage had been done. If Palin had been prepped and handled the way she SHOULD have been, it wouldnt have been an issue IMO.

Say it with me.... McCain was chosen because he wouldn't succeed against Obama and the fawning media. The election was purposefully thrown. And, even if there was some slight chance he actually could muster up the people, all would not have been lost because, hey, after-all, he is a RINO and one of the boys. This goes for Romney as well.

I have no faith in anything McLame says, especially when it comes to the fate of our republic.

I don't trust any of them. There's still too much chatter about a ban, executive orders, mag limits, federal registry, ect.

He could have been asked to say something "pro 2a" to try and calm down the pro side in an effort for us to back down some.

Can't we just trade Gay Marriage for Gun Rights and call it a day? Marry who you want and own/open carry whatever you want? Can we now start talking about things that matter to everyone, like the economy?

No, we can't, because that is the last thing the Republicans want. Wall Street has the whole party in their pocket, and most of the Democrats too. So as long as the Republicans keep up the rabble rousing, saber rattling, over dumb shit like Prayer in School, Gay Marriage, etc., then the billionaires can stay nice and fat and comfy while the rest learn to live on less and less each day.
