Firework pictures.

Recommended Posts

Did the firework thing last night in Morristown at the Morris Lewis Park - one of the best fireworks shows I have seen in years.  I took lots of pictures. I will post a few below and for those that want to see more you can find the entire set at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kirbinster/sets/72157634484885313/

For those that want to take fireworks shots, I know there are many more shows over the weekend.  The Morris County College in Randolph has a big show Saturday night.  As a General rule of thumb one should have their camera on a tripod and set the lens to around f/8 and take an exposure of about three to five seconds.  Check what it looks like and adjust from there.  The ones from last night were super bright and required more like f/13 but that is unusual:

Way to go, Howard. They are great.  FYI, Lake Hopatcong tonight.  Going out on the boat to see them.

Thanks.  That sounds way cool, try to take some pictures for us.  See if you can get some reflections of the show in the water - that would make for a great shot.

Great photos! Never a disappointment when you post your shots.

You should see a show from close up. It's louder than at the range.

But there really is nothing like the percussion hitting your chest as they leave the mortar tube when you're standing at the launch site. At least without joining the military

I was at the Six Flag's fireworks last night.  It was good, but short.  15 mins.  Got to ride the Roller coasters at night- pretty cool.

The fireworks were on top of you, so it sounded LOUD.

The worst part was getting out of the parking lot.

My buddy's gf wanted to go down there yesterday on the motorcycles. He and I just wanted to cruise around. We ended up out in Bethlehem PA and caught the show near the sands casino. It wasnt bad and at the end of the night she was happy we didn't go to great adventure.

Nice photos. I like how you captured the rich blues of the sky.

Photographing fireworks is fun and sometimes you get a surprise. This is one I took in 2007 and didn't notice it looked like the sun & palm trees until I viewed it on my monitor.

Here is a 'before' picture, as we were chain fusing the finale for a municipal show on the 4th.   About 570 shells here, plus attached ground cakes.  Main body cakes can be seen on the field in the background; the main body itself and the opening salvo are behind where the photographer was standing.
