One_crazy_dude 1 Posted September 14, 2013 My friend called cabals yesterday and they told him the cannot ship to New Jersey because the governer passed a ban on Internet sales of these large calibers. For muzzel loaders.... Really. I cannot find anything on the net. Anybody heard of this?
DirtyDigz 1,812 Posted September 14, 2013 The "Cabals" (Cabelas?) rep is talking out of their posterior. There is no such ban in effect. There have been bills that have passed committee both recently and in years past that would ban .50 cal and/or muzzleloaders, but none were signed into law. The most recent one was vetoed by Governor Christie.
leadunderpressure 52 Posted September 14, 2013 Stupid is as stupid does. No such law exists. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

SJ ED 0 Posted September 15, 2013 One of Christies good moves when he vetoed the 50 cal ban.
halbautomatisch 60 Posted September 15, 2013 Cabela's won't ship it to NJ because it has to sold though a dealer in NJ. EDIT: I thought the OP was talking about the rifle itself, not the bullets.

maintenanceguy 510 Posted September 15, 2013 Two different bills, both were vetoed. One banned .50 caliber and larger firearms (not bullet) over 12,000 ft lbs muzzle energy. Shotguns and muzzle loaders would not have been banned if it passed. The other banned internet purchase of ammo. Both vetoed. Cabela's is wrong. njJoniGuy 2,133 Posted September 15, 2013 Quoting Winston Churchill, who was quoting Mark Twain: “A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on.” The Sweeney/Weinberg/Cryan lie continues to damage us. We must rid our state of them and those like them.
Vlad G 345 Posted September 15, 2013 Call Cabelas back and ask for a supervisor. Sometimes they get broken ideas in their system and you can get them cleared out, they are actually pretty decent about this.

Steve_G 51 Posted September 15, 2013 Call Cabelas back and ask for a supervisor. Sometimes they get broken ideas in their system and you can get them cleared out, they are actually pretty decent about this. I tried that. I called about them not shipping primers to NJ. Customer service rep and supervisor would only say "NJ is restricted" they could not give a legitimate reason. I have put them in the same category as CTD. I will not buy anything from them under any circumstances.

Steve_G 51 Posted September 15, 2013 I find that very surprising, seeing how they've shipped me stuff just fine. Have they shipped primers? I have ordered ammo and accessories from them in the past, no problems. What really got me was that they can't give an answer as to why they won't ship primers to NJ. It's no big loss , they don't have anything I can't get elsewhere.

Called and spoke with a supervisor about the primer issue. I got nowhere.
njJoniGuy 2,133 Posted September 16, 2013 Think I'll call HQ in Nebraska this week and get myself taken off their mailing list for this PRNJ "restricted" bullshite. The rest of you should consider doing the same to get our message across. Vote with your wallets. 800-237-4444

raz-0 1,259 Posted September 16, 2013 I've gotten then to fix mistakes before. It's been a while. First thing is to find out why it is restricted. Where id start with that is finding out where else is restricted.
