Smith & Wesson to stop selling guns in California due to microstamping law!

Recommended Posts

RE: S&W and Ruger - this only applies to their semi-automatic handguns. Since revolvers do not eject the brass, microstamping is useless for them. Ruger and S&W will continue to sell revolvers there, from what I understand.

I hope more do it. REgardless of it mobilizing more gun owners, it gives them the opportunity to attack the law based on denying the ability to purchase firearms in common use in a manner that has largely been covered already in DC.

I hope ALL of the firearms industry stops selling to Cali.  It's the only way to get the silent majority of 2A supporters riled up enough to get up off their asses.

i would never wish that- making firearms un-available or even harder to obtain to any general population. The problem is that the lawmaking elite will keep on doing what they want anyway. Forget what happened here in NJ just a few months ago? All the anti bills pushed right thru despite our loudest screams, hearings rallys, counter suits etc...We were one person away from being screwed!(still are :( ) I also remember seeing on other forums or such that we would deserve whatever came our way because we cant control our officials and how offended i was hearing that. You like finding out when a store wont even sell gun parts/acc's to us because of our bad rep? It pisses me off. Dont wish for others to be 2A castrated!

Someone answer this :

If microstamping is out for these companies because of the increased cost and the roster bullshit, but they will continue to sell revolvers that dont eject casings

what is the purpose ?   Are bullets going to be serialized  by the manufacturer? Are casters required to microstamp their own bullets?  Do reloading machines have to imprint anything?

Would rolling your own still be legal?  Such a system can be fixed by files, firing pins, barrels.

Just another useless law.

Micro-stamping has already proven to be useless. Too easy to alter or replace the part doing the stamping. But anti's don't let logic or proof stand in the way of their agenda. This is a defacto gun ban. I'm with raz-0 on this - if enough manufacturers stop selling guns in CA it gives the pro-gun faction a platform from which to launch a fight on the judicial side - the legislative side is already lost.

Adios,

Silent majority? I doubt it. I've met way too many hunters who have no problem with banning everything other than their 12 ga turkey gun. Particularly handguns.

Remember, owning a gun does not make you pro-2A.
