HK VP9

Watched his vid as always. I just don't get what he is bitching about the trigger hurting his finger. The guy has baseball mitts for hands and shoots everything inside and out. Yet a complaint about the trigger? I never had any trigger hurt me just from pulling it. Got to scratch my head on that one. The trigger is sweet.

some people get Groove Bite* from the trough HK puts in the trigger guard to prevent gloves from getting caught. There's 2 basic solutions... learn to ride your thumb high up on the trigger (some people do it naturally, hence why they never notice and don't understand,) or take an emery board and sand down the guard until the trough is gone. Given the guy's age I'd suspect he has finger tips that are curving laterally, causing them to get pinched more easily. I have a client that due to lime's disease has severe deformation of some of his finger tips that REALLY causes him problems with some trigger guards.

* that's my on that catch phrase... Groove Bite :D

I've had one trigger hurt. The hk45. Bad enough I swapped it out for a different rental. Maybe this was the same for him. I didn't watch the video though

I'm not sure. He is significantly bigger than me. But I do have monster sized hands. So he probably has longer fingers

The guy is like 6.5' and can palm a bowling ball. Lol.

Phooey! :p

My first gun was an HK P2000 LEM. Sold it to one of my partners at work when we got Glocks.

I have to carry a Glock for work. I won't buy another HK until I retire.

My next pistol will be another G35 (Glock number 6) that I will chop to G23 grip size for CCW with my RMR slide.

I was really digging this gun by all the pictures I have seen so far. Thing is, they are all pictures of the left side, then I saw a picture of the right side. What the hell is that huge, ugly, out of place lever on the left side? Is that an ambi slide release? That is really killing it for me.

(edit: it is a slide release....WHY?!?!?!)

Can it be eliminated?

    • I use an Alien Gear cloak tuck (IWB) with my Shield.  Neoprene back - in the summer it does feel warm but doesn't rub or chafe.   https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-iwb-holster.html Could also go with the shapeshift as it has multiple options - OWB/IWB, Appendix... https://aliengearholsters.com/ruger-lcp-shapeshift-modular-holster-system.html
    • The  12-1 compression ratio L88 is long gone. This is GM's updated version. it might be  pump gas 10-1 engine The L88 was a aluminum head  cast iron block engine with a nasty solid lifter cam. the  ZL1 was a all aluminum  12 or 13-1 compression ratio engine with the best forged internal parts at the time and had a even nastier solid lifter cam
    • I like my regular carry holster.  OWB leather with belt slots.  I've been carrying for over a year and it was comfortable and I hardly even noticed it.  I carry (usually) a Ruger LCP .380 - light, convenient, tiny. But...today I ended up taking it off an leaving it home after a few hours. I cut down a big maple tree a few days ago and I spent 3/4 of today loading and unloading firewood into the back of my truck and a trailer.  It was a warm day, I was dirty, tired, sweaty, and my holster was rubbing against my side.  The leather and exposed metal snap was no longer comfortable. I'm thinking about adding a layer of something to that part of the holster to soften the contact.  Anything insulating will make it worse.  I don't want a sweaty, hotter holster against my skin.  I'm imagining something thin, breathable, that won't absorb sweat, and softer than leather, metal snaps, and rivets.   But I have no idea what would work. I'm hoping somebody else has already figured this out and I can just do what they did. Any suggestions appreciated.
    • Check the primers on the ammo you didn't shoot yet. Are they fully seated? If the primer is not just below flush with the back of the case, the first hit can seat it better then the second hit ignites it.
