Howard 538 Posted July 16, 2014 You can't carry at a range in NJ, if that makes any sense. Nor can you rapid fire, double tap, or draw from a holster. That's reserved for the privileged only. Our ranges are as bad as our laws. At least you are legal to carry a your firearm in your garage. Don't know about the carry stuff, but I can do all the other stuff at the range I go to. 67gtonut 847 Posted July 16, 2014 RTSP ...... And I believe Woodland Park also.... Sent from my iPhone
diamondd817 827 Posted July 16, 2014 RTSP ...... And I believe Woodland Park also.... Sent from my iPhone RTSP is a definite no. Last time I was there I had the RO ask me to slow my rate of fire. I was not rapid firing, just firing at a quick pace. Unless you are LE, no rapid fire, no double taps, no drawing from a holster.
67gtonut 847 Posted July 16, 2014 Rapid Fire .... no Controlled pairs..... no issue Holster Draw with approval
Blacksmythe 71 Posted July 16, 2014 When I do it. I take the person to the range. I let them inspect it, shoot it, shake hands agree on the deal and have them put the money in my range bag where I count it. say thank you and keep shooting until the hour is up. Or do the exchange in the parking lot of the range. I holster draw and shoot groups all day in woodland park. No funny looks or weirdness.
illy 1 Posted July 16, 2014 Just rapid fire in 5 shot strings. Say you're training for bullseye...
Howard 538 Posted July 16, 2014 RTSP is a definite no. Last time I was there I had the RO ask me to slow my rate of fire. I was not rapid firing, just firing at a quick pace. Unless you are LE, no rapid fire, no double taps, no drawing from a holster. I can draw from a Holster at RTSP, all you have to do is have a red dot on your membership card (proof of training required) and then a little plastic card that gets posted in the port. Controlled pairs are no problem either. I have never had problems with rapid fire either, after letting the RO know what I am doing. They want to make sure you are capable and safe. I have explained that I want to practice rapid strings of 5 or 6 rounds which I need to work on for IDPA and USPSA competition and have never had an issue. But then again they know me and my capabilities. If you are a first time guest that is unknown I would expect the answer to be no to all of the above. boo 6 Posted July 16, 2014 RTSP ...... And I believe Woodland Park also.... Sent from my iPhone Woodland Park allows holster draw with approval. Bullet Hole has holster draw with no approval required, just notify the RO first.
PeteF 1,044 Posted July 16, 2014 And what range is that?OBRPC, range is consideted hot when loaded gun is in hoster. But definitely no issues about drawing from holster or rapid fire. Visit a steel match sometime.
glockamole 0 Posted July 16, 2014 Shore shot will let you draw if you talk to them first. They just want to make sure you have experience and wont shoot a hole in your foot.

Spike 7.62 0 Posted July 17, 2014 ... And again, I never need to give my address out to someone I can't even see. Except that your full name, entire address and phone number is going to be on HIS permit, that he keeps, forever. And half the time someone sells me their pistol they want to give me their old permit too. If you're going to deal with strangers you need to stop being such a scardy-cat. Anyone who cares enough to actually join a gun forum or browse Armslist, have a FID and draw a permit is someone who is looking for a legal transaction. I invite people to my apartment and I dont carry a gun when I meet them. I've met at public parking lots and gone into other peoples homes. It isn't a big deal. Don't be the guy who is X'ing out the last digits of your guns serial number for "security". Gun ownership is a hobby, if you relax a little bit you will enjoy it more. And as far as using a shop.. If someone came into my store wanting to use it for their private transaction I'd ask them to either pitch in for my rent or to kindly buy a box of ammo. That should do the trick. mipafox 438 Posted July 20, 2014 Ranges and clubs are the same in PA. Some you can draw, some you can't. Some have restrictions on rapid fire. I go to a range near Philly sometimes that has restrictions on rapid fire but allows full auto. Splain that.

Once I've seen the buyers fid and P2P I'm not worried. You don't know anything before you have that paperwork in hand. Before you see the proof could be a thug that has no p2p or fid that your trusting from the internet, rolling up to your home with his boys to attempt to roll you for ALL your guns and who knows what else.Nevermind the one your trying to sell. smart plan if your giving your address to a stranger is have a gun on you, cant hurt to be safe until you've confirmed trust.
