TonyS. 12 Posted August 16, 2014 Hey guys. I know of S&W, Baretta, Sig Sauer, Kel-Tec, Ruger(just assembled here?), and Colt. I've searched and it appears these are the major players here in the US, unless these are just the most notable. Are there any other companies making pistols here in the good'ol USA? Thanks. JT Custom Guns 957 Posted August 16, 2014 Look here: http://www.americansworking.com/guns.html Looks like neither of the lists posted are up to date - lol Don't forget Para USA (not Para ordnance)
djg0770 481 Posted August 16, 2014 Henry Rifle - Bayonne, NJ... oh you said pistol and USA, sorry.
PK90 3,570 Posted August 16, 2014 There are about 8,000 licensed manufacturers. I am sure there are smaller companies making pistols. You don't even see Ed Brown, Wilson Combat, etc. on those lists above.
JT Custom Guns 957 Posted August 16, 2014 I was just thinking about WC while I was reading the list I posted. Kimber says the make the finest 1911's - lol
HBecwithFn7 296 Posted August 16, 2014 Para Ordinance? They're HQ'ed in NC, but I don't know if all the parts are made in the USA. Final assembly seems to be in the USA,

Vlad G 345 Posted August 17, 2014 Thanks didn't know some of the 1911's were made in Brazil thought I was right about the XD Yep, the cheaper guns like the Milspec and the like are made in Brazil. I suspect some of their other parts are as well. Its not a quality issue though.
fishnut 2,358 Posted August 17, 2014 Yes XDs are made in Croatia I think, and the lower end 1911s are made in Imbel brazil. Springfield does produce some handguns in the US
Michael2013 56 Posted August 17, 2014 Yes XDs are made in Croatia I think...When I was shopping for a 9mm, was looking at the XD - it was made in Turkey.
302w 83 Posted August 18, 2014 Many manufacturers are in multiple countries. Glock and Sig both have small production here
2Alpha 6 Posted August 18, 2014 I think you will find very few true 100% American made guns. Lots of parts are forged outside the US For 1911s I can only think of 3 companies that are 100% US. Caspian being 100% down to the material being used, STI but not all their frames are 100% US and SV
