____________________________________________________________

Please try and bring everything you can in terms of a gun, ammo, and clays.

A rough check list of what to bring:
- Gun(s)
- Ammo (birdshot #7, 7.5, 8)
- Clays
- Thrower if you have one
- Eyes and ears
- Shell pouch
- Beverages/snacks
- Layer up and bring a warm jacket/gloves/hat depending on weather
- Chair

If you can't bring some things, we will have plenty of stuff there. If you've never shot a shotgun before, I and others will try working with you to be able to dust a clay by the end of the day!

Gun rules to remember:

Always treat a gun as if it was loaded
Keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot
Never point the muzzle at anything you're not willing to destroy
Always be aware of you're target/line of fire
For this range, keep all guns unloaded until you're on the firing line

Be smart, be safe, and we will have a fun-filled day!

Just picked up a mossberg 500 and would love to take it out.  I'm new to this so forgive me if I seem like a noob.  It's cause I am.  One question, can you shoot at a wma without a hunting license?

Thank you.

You can shoot at the WMAs as long as someone in your party has a hunting license which I do.

I'll try and make this one with my thrower. This is probably the last one I'll be able to make for a while. Bow season starts Sep13th. I'm going to be spending my weekends sitting in my tree filling my freezer soon.

That's one of the main reasons I wanted to get it in by the 6th!  I hope to be up in a tree somewhere as well after that.

I'm a dark pencil for this one. Will firm up as we get closer.

Also need to get off my butt and get my hunter's license done. When's the best time of the year so as to not be sitting with 500 other bored to tears souls? :D

I think the field course are filled until end of Sept or Oct.  Check out their website.  Also you can do this http://www.huntercourse.com/usa/newjersey/ which will shortcut your day slightly.  I've heard that if you go in, sign up, and don't pay and then exit the screen they send you a 50% off coupon or something.

even if classes are full on the site just go as a walk on, they wont turn you away. Classes end I think in October. If you take the online class you can skip the walkthru on test day and go right to practical and written,

Yes, I saw several do this when I went for my exam. It also exempts you from having to turn in a completed workbook as a prerequisite to the course.
