RobertJames 14 Posted June 10, 2015 I have one more permit to burn. My heart was set on a Shield in 9mm, but it dawned on me that I already have a couple of compact 9's that I can't actually carry here. So I was at a local shop yesterday and these two guns caught my eye. Let me know what I should get next from the choices. Or something awesome I may have overlooked. Just don't tell me to get a Glock. Life is too short for ugly guns.
Blacksmythe 71 Posted June 10, 2015 That model 60 looks nice. Im on a revolver kick right now. Ruger alaskans are nice in 44mag or 464 casull, How about a Ruger GP100 or a SW 686? Ruger SP101s are nice.
diamondd817 828 Posted June 10, 2015 I was just at RTSP looking at a S&W 686+ 3-5-7 Talo 3". Moonclip cut cylinder. Man that thing is nice. But out of your 2 choices I would go with the Ruger 1911. Where you shopping?
RobertJames 14 Posted June 10, 2015 I have a 586 which is a blue 686. I should have mentioned I'd like to stay with .45 ACP or .38/.357. But I might consider .45 Colt since I have a lever gun chambered in that. Ruger Redhawk is nice, but spendy.

Were you shopping? I was at Simon Peter yesterday drooling, er browsing. But that's the other thing, I have 2 1911's, which I absolutely love. My justification is that I don't have a stainless commander length. yet. the 60 just felt awesome, amazing trigger and craftsmanship, but cost just a few bucks less than the 586. Gunnz 49 Posted June 11, 2015 I have the ruger 1911 and its a sweet shooter. For some reason I love the way it looks too.
jglass38 0 Posted June 11, 2015 The Ruger SR1911 is beautiful. If I could justify getting another semi, it would be the one. Solid, heavy construction and just stunning.
RobertJames 14 Posted June 15, 2015 Stainless CZ 75 or 85 in 45. the .45 version is the CZ 97b. And I must have one now. Well, with the next batch of permits. But I'm leaning towards the Smith this time around.
