Weapons, drugs and money found in Long Branch, police say

Recommended Posts

So here is a typical Gun Charge case add a dose of Drugs. And Likely Illegal Aliens.

Here's the point.:

NJ Has such "Strict" Gun laws, yet the charges will get plea bargained:

Drop All gun Charges- After All these were Bullshit to begin with.

No deportation assuming they are Illegals

Small term for Drugs.

So had this been a Legal Citizen with Legal guns,Every little infraction and detail would have stuck!

I would love for anyone that has any access to watch and report the outcome.

Weapons, drugs and money found in Long Branch, police say

Asbury Park Press USA TODAY NETWORK – NEW JERSEY

LONG BRANCH - Police arrested a city man Friday on gun and drug charges after allegedly finding multiple guns, including an AK-47 rifle, as well as two pounds of marijuana in his backpack and house.

Around 11 a.m. Friday, police responded to a call “concerning two subjects sitting in a vehicle, in possession of a ‘machine gun,’” according to a statement by Long Branch Police Chief Jason Roebuck posted to the department’s Facebook page.

As police approached a grey Honda with Ohio license plates, the people inside the car got out and “began to quickly walk away while splitting up,” the statement read.

Eventually, officers stopped the suspects who were identified as Rafael Tejada, 24, of Deal and Ptahhetep Reynoso, 21, of Long Branch.

Police searched Reynoso’s backpack and said they found an AK-47 rifle, a loaded 30 round magazine, 55 rounds of .380 pistol ammo and seven large clear bags of marijuana, according to the statement. Police also said they found less than 50 grams of marijuana on Tejada. Both were placed under arrest, according to the statement. Following the arrests, police were able to get consent to search Reynoso’s house on Fourth Avenue. In the house, police said they found a Smith & Wesson Bodyguard .380 semiautomatic pistol, more gun magazines and ammunition, two pounds of marijuana, a scale, a vacuum sealer and $1,320 in cash.

According to the release, Reynoso was charged with:

Possession of a weapon while committing a controlled dangerous substance crime.

Possession of an assault firearm.

Possession of marijuana over 50 grams with intent to distribute.

Unlawful possession of a handgun.

Possession of a controlled dangero

I guess he didn't have an FID?  I wonder why no high capacity magazine charge, why there was a charge for the handgun, and why the assault weapons charge - was it an automatic AK?

They said they found the AK in his backpack. To fit in a backpack, it had to be a folder, most likely not pinned, making it fit the definition of an assault rifle.  You don't need a FID to have a handgun in your house so he must have had some prior convictions making him prohibited from owning any guns.  I'm sure they added the large capacity charges as well.  Just didn't make the press release.

He may not have been prohibited but the drugs possession triggers unlawful possession of any firearm.
