tinyboy 1 Posted July 9, 2009 I have two handgun permits left, and I need some ideas on which handguns to get I currently own: 9MM .357 .38 10MM .40 S&W Glock, so I can also swap out and shoot .357 auto with it .45 (but not a 1911) Judge I don't like getting the same caliber, I think it's a waste. the only reason I own two .38s, is one is the 686 6 inch and the other is a little snub nose Taurus piece of shit. I would however consider a nice 1911. I was thinking of a .44, and after Tuesday Im even thinking harder about the .44 Auto, and the 5.7. Any suggestions? Picked up a Kimber Stainless Target II so one more to go. They have a gorgeous Kimber in black at Cheyenne but two 1911s back to back? Come on now.... was thinking maybe a H&K, or a .380 if I can get the ammo
Maksim 1,504 Posted July 9, 2009 humn... 1911 of some sort, be it 45 or 9mm. desert eagle 44 mag can be very fun, only thing is... how much use will it actually get? a 22lr pistol is always great. the 5seven will be a niche caliber.... so unless you get something else, ie ps90, or the ar 5x7 upper, will be kind of pointless. tinyboy 1 Posted July 9, 2009 Im ok with the niche caliber, I will just buy a few k rounds of the 5.7 and be set with that
Maksim 1,504 Posted July 9, 2009 then the 5seven will be good. did you get a chance to shoot wolfy's 357 sig xd?
tinyboy 1 Posted July 9, 2009 I held it but didn't shoot it I have the Glock .40, so it can be changed to a .357 if I want it, plus that ammo is getting pricey with the shortage
matt6669 71 Posted July 9, 2009 I'd get a 1911 in .45acp even tho you already have a .45. A 1911 will be my next handgun purchase. I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the money on a nice Kimber or buy a cheaper 1911 and personalize it throughout the years. Outside of that I can't really recommend anything as your arsenal puts mine to shame if you want, you could always donate two guns to the matt needs more guns fund, and then that would open two more options for you FTW! Cylinder Head 22 Posted July 9, 2009 Get a 1911, or an HK45.
tj462nj 32 Posted July 9, 2009 Seems like you do have a variety of different calibers there, I would recommend to get something that is more econimical to shoot, like a 22 or 17. These calibers in revolvers can be fun to shoot (and very accurate too)
NJChiroDoc 0 Posted July 9, 2009 What about a .380 Ruger LCP
tony357 386 Posted July 9, 2009 dude, everyone has to have a 1911... i shoot my DE more than all my other pistols except the 1911.
AntZ 1 Posted July 9, 2009 Im ok with the niche caliber, I will just buy a few k rounds of the 5.7 and be set with that I was thinking five-seven until I saw the following from FN which basically said the maximum effective range is less than Glock 17's. http://www.allbusiness.com/crime-law/la ... 335-1.html
tinyboy 1 Posted July 9, 2009 I would LOVE a .380, but you cannot get ammo at all for it, which sucks! I have a .22 rifle, I mean I dont see the point of having a .22 pistol and a rifle Matt if my wife had her way, you would get them all for $5 total (maybe $6) believe me. This is why I have 2 left and I'm all done. I promised her no more handguns after these two are used up. Long guns, well that's another story.... Larain60 1 Posted July 9, 2009 .22lr is mandatory. Check out the Ruger 22/45 1911 is nice too.

Jim Flynn's Truck Repair in Glen Gardner has plenty of .380. I just picked up a couple of boxes for a friend yesterday for $12.50 ea.

njpilot 671 Posted July 10, 2009 Yep. It's not close. I pass by there some days when I go to Allentown, PA. He has a lot of different ammo at good prices. PMC Bronze .223 for $7.50 a box. I just picked up 2 boxes of A/E .308 for $15.25 a box and A/E .38 Special for $15 a box.
Ray Ray 3,566 Posted July 10, 2009 How about a 22 magnum/lr combo revolver. And of course a 1911. Those 2 seem to be whta everyone else here suggests.

NJChiroDoc 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Yes jim flynns does have the ammo at a great price. Let me say the ruger LCP is very small, very accuract, and very fun to shoot!
